We recently stayed at the Blakemore for a family break. We stayed in a triple room on the 5th floor, which was spacious and quiet.nThe hotel is incredibly well located for theatre trips and sightseeing.nOur review is 5* as my daughter lost her teddy bear, having left it in her bed.nAfter a trip to reception late at night, he was back with us before breakfast. We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful service.
I'm giving four stars for this supposedly four star hotel. The rooms are not really four-star quality, and elsewhere they could easily be considered 3 star. However, the service was excellent and the hotel is extremely convenient, especially considering that several different tube lines are available at various tube stations nearby.
Quiet location, easily walkable to public transport/local pubs and restaurants. Nice lobby and front desk staff.nnUnfortunately, worst night sleep I’ve had in months and I have young children…. Allocated room 001 on the ground floor, next to the lobby. Room wasn’t at all big but that’s expected for London, however the walls must be made out of paper. A slamming door woke me up every couple of hours during the night and running water or pipe noise woke me during the hours between. I’m usually a very heavy sleeper.nnThe bed was also uncomfortable with non-existent, thin pillows. Thankfully the rain shower in the morning was decent enough to wake me up. Nice staff and location but that’s about it. Very much not worth the price I paid unfortunately.
My daughter & I had a great London mini break here at this hotel. We were in room 413. It was impeccably clean & had everything we needed. The breakfast had very good choice. Staff were welcoming. Location is ideal for Paddington train & Queensway/Bayswater tubes. It was very prettily dressed up for Christmas. We would totally stay here again!
We visited for afternoon tea and the service made the experience unenjoyable.nnThe location of the hotel itself was great, easily accessible and on a quiet street!nnWhen we entered the hotel itself, the reception staff weren’t the most welcoming.nWe were told where to go for the tea and sat ourselves down.nnWe were then greeted by a staff member who started pouring water for us without letting us know about a surcharge. We placed our orders for teas. Another staff member came over and placed a pot of tea onto our table snd walked away without informing us what tea it was. We then waiting for 15 minutes and the other pot of tea didn’t arrive so we had to ask about the second. The timing of how long the afternoon tea came out wasn’t too bad.nnThe afternoon tea itself was lacklustre. Not enough condiments to go with the scones, the sandwiches were average, but the brownie and macaron were nice enough.nnOverall, there was a lot of waiting, no real customer service and it felt like we were just left to the side. It felt like we were a burden. The seating area also felt cramped, especially when it got filled up. We felt like a pack of sardines and we could barely hear each other.
