I stayed for four nights during a business trip. The hotel’s location is very convenient — while it’s about 30 minutes from central London, both the Underground and bus stations are less than a five-minute walk away. A major shopping center, Westfield London, is also nearby, which is great for shopping and dining.nnThe hotel offers a rich and varied breakfast, and the lobby restaurant has a good menu with reasonable prices. The room size is very good compared to many other London hotels, which was definitely a plus.nnThe only downside was the soundproofing between rooms, which could be improved, as noise from neighboring rooms was noticeable.nnOverall, a comfortable and convenient stay, especially for business travel.
Our stay at the Hilton London Kensington Hotel on Holland Park Avenue was extremely disappointing and far below what we expected from a hotel that Hilton considers a 4-star property. We stayed for 15 nights, booked 4 rooms, and paid approximately $15,600. Unfortunately, the experience was more comparable to a budget motel than a luxury hotel.nnThe service was consistently poor. Whenever we requested towels or other basic amenities, they would only arrive after several reminders, often taking half a day. Housekeeping was equally disappointing. The rooms were never properly vacuumed, the bedsheets and pillowcases were never changed during our stay, and it appeared that staff simply ironed the comforter to make the bed look fresh. Cups and glasses in the room were never washed, so we had to clean them ourselves. Even the coffee mug in the room was cracked and was never replaced despite remaining there throughout our stay. The bathroom mats were also never replaced.nnThe rooms were very small, and the air conditioning barely worked. The rooms felt like furnaces, and we had to request table fans just to make them somewhat bearable. The toilet flush would only work once, after which we had to wait about 10 minutes before it could be used again.nnThe bed quality was also terrible. Every time we moved, the beds creaked loudly, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. We woke up every morning with body aches due to the poor-quality mattresses. As a couple, we intentionally booked a room with two single beds because it appeared slightly larger than the room with one queen bed. However, the beds constantly slid apart because the wheel locks did not work properly, making the sleeping arrangement even more uncomfortable.nnThe overall cleanliness of the hotel was poor. The hallways had a persistent unpleasant odor, and balls of lint remained on the carpet for days, indicating they were rarely vacuumed.nnBreakfast was another disappointment. The menu was virtually identical every day with no variety. The pre-made fried eggs were rubbery and cold, so we had to order freshly cooked eggs each morning and wait a considerable amount of time for them. Although there were croissants, bread, and pastries, they were exactly the same every day with no effort to offer any variety.nnOverall, this hotel does not provide the level of service, cleanliness, comfort, or maintenance expected of a 4-star property. Considering the premium rates charged, our stay was a major disappointment, and I would not recommend the Hilton London Kensington Hotel to anyone expecting Hilton's usual standards. Hilton should seriously reconsider classifying this property as a 4-star hotel until significant improvements are made.
Superb collection, min walk from the High St and tube station. Very safe area with greats cafes and restaurants. Rooks are basic and small but for the price it's fine. Great air con as temperatures reached 33deg. Pool was fine. Bar staff and conceirge were pretty poor and couldn't help with basic questions about hotelz facilities and area. Reception staff, fast and efficient. Overall is was a fine hotel and I would return...I'd upgrade my room for a better experience
Great location, convenient for tube station connections, easy to commute.nnThe staff is very polite and professional, welcoming you.nnThe rooms are small for hilton standard but maintained neat and clean.nnGot range for breakfast provided.nnThe only issue I had is with the AC not being great, it was a very hot week in London and would have liked it to be better
June 21-26 stay; Room 5113, First positives: bellman Sam was nice. Shower water pressure was good and gets super hot unfortunately not cool though in the hot weather even if you put it on the lowest setting Really Old building, kind of dirty up front with various trash seen in the front of the hotel, a good power wash and cleaning probably would go a long way to beautify the entrance, and trash in the rotating door area floor hair balls, and various discarded items; the elevator while it worked the entire time, did make a lot of noises and vibrations; the carpets in hallways and lighting just dingy, …now to the room. in summer weather, AC kept the room at a high temperature all day and night. So no openable windows to cool down the room at night, so stifling feeling without a working AC it’s on and lowest temperature setting and highest fan setting. No one ever called us to ask how we liked the room. Very uncomfortable; The view out of room 5113 was underwhelming with an old inaccessible balcony. The shower is very small as the bathroom with toilet right next to opening of shower. No electric outlet anywhere close to the left side of the bed. 27-30 inch TV was too small. But it did work fine. The WiFi intermittently didn’t work. The fridge wouldn’t cool down our drinks either.
