I don't get all the negative reviews for this hotel. Don't be scared off by them. I just spent 6 nights there with my son and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff is amazing. I'd like to give a shout out to Gigi and Elga at the front desk for using creative thinking to solve a problem I had. And the breakfast is excellent. We could have had a different meal each day there was so much variety. On-site restaurant also had great food and service. Yes the rooms are a little tired but our room/bedding/linens were very clean and comfortable. Yes we could have used an outlet next to the bed but that really wasn't a big deal. Location is great and walking to the tube is easy. There's a huge mall with tons of stores/restaurants next to the tube stop. I'd stay here again if in Shepherd's Bush area.
Stayed with family to be close to the carnival route as we were participating. Room was a bit small as others have already commented on bit was fine for us as we were hardly in it. It was clean and tidy with everything that we needed. Service was quick when items were requested. Staff were helpful and friendly. Perfect spot for if you want to be close to carnival.
The bathrooms had room for improvement, the showers had poor pressure and the shower stalls might leak onto the toilet floor, so you should ask for several large towels. Try to get a view somewhere other than the courtyard and other people's rooms.nnThe location is excellent - quite quiet, even though it is right next to the center. Sightseeing buses and other buses practically leave from the parking lot.
4/10 not recommend for personal preference.nnROOM 4024: rating is 2.5. Average and smelled like elderly persons mothballs. Rooms definitely need a renovation/upgrade. No USB or wall outlets near the bed. No full size mirror. Bed was comfortable. Pillows too soft/squishy for my preference.nNo noise issues during our stay.nBATHROOM: Tub/shower combination very outdated. There is a cloth shower curtain and paint peeling around door and tub. Small size but there is enough counter space.nnCLEANLINESS: room was clean but with it being outdated there definitely are noticeable areas of “grime”.nnSERVICE: Nothing special and average at the check-in. Service wasn’t friendly from the lady checking guests in during breakfast did not say good morning or smile or was not in the slightest welcoming. We did receive an average bottle of wine in the room for special celebration which was a nice gesture.nnLOCATION: Nice and easily accessible to buses and trains. Within walking to several restaurants and shopping as well. Felt safe during our stay.nnOverall: This hotel gets the job done if you just need a decently clean and comfortable room/bed and a good area to stay in. Conference was happening during our stay so it was pretty busy.nWould request and updated room if they have them available.
A colleague told me not to stay here after I booked it because it's not been updated and is old. I thought he was being posh. But no, he was not. It's not that it's not updated, it's that it is beat up, with run down scratched furniture, wallpaper and paint peeling, floorboards chipped and warn, tile and grout stained. Just generally, not at all what I would expect from a Hilton brand hotel. My room is small, but a corner so nice windows. The view is nothing, with an out of use, inaccessible balcony out one window. It isn't too loud despite being close to a motorway and the neighborhood is walkable with wonderful little shops and bistros.nI certainly won't be staying here again for future visits.nThe restaurant has decent food, but awful slow service. I do not think my cocktail was the gin I ordered, which is just a big no for me as well.
