Stayed a few times, short notice trip this week & walked in hoping the could fit us in, very accommodating & gave us a room for 2 nights. Bright clean room, comfy beds & could see the sea & pier. Great location opposite the pier & town. Staff are lovely, helpful & friendly. Will be staying again in a few months.
Just spent three very pleasant nights at the Afton hotel, the room was spacious and clean, the people were nice and very helpful - it's situated in a very good position directly opposite the pier and yet is very quiet at night, we slept well. We'll definitely stay again next time we're in the area.Rooms: 5/5
Great value for money! Perfect location and I was positively surprised by the place. For £40 for 2 I wasn't expecting much, we had a seaview and the bed was fairly comfortable. Perhaps more pillows would be good. If I'm in Eastbourne again I'll be staying here!
Lovely hosts, but no breakfasts available. There's a lift in the building as we were on the 3rd floor. Basic hotel with a large lounge area and TV.Rooms: 4/5
My friend and I appreciated the receptionist's positive attitude. He was courteous, knowledgeable and available. Rooms were clean, tidy and well ventilated. We valued that our belongings could be looked after even after a check-out whilst we went for a walk in the nature. Well appreciated stay and we'll definitely come back.
Easy check in, friendly staff, clean and bright room, but the hotel itself could do with a bit of TLC otherwise very good, great location, near the town centre lots of choice of restaurants, bars and very near the pier, Rooms: Clean and bright room, though the carpet could do with replacing otherwise no complaints. Nearby activities: Plenty of bars,restaurants shops the is just opposite the hotel,Plenty to see and do good transport services on the door step. Food & drinks: Some great bars with friendly and sociable staff.some good restaurants with a wide choice of foods to pick from,

Fantastic quiet little hotel. I have just had a weekend here with a coach group and the staff here make the hotel. The food is lovely for a 2 star hotel,the staff are helpfull kind and a very good laugh. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff here. I would stay here over and over again in a heartbeat. Great value and perfect seafront location even though Eastbourne has become a bit of a dive in recent years which is a shame.
The single bedroom was disappointing - narrow, and small much like student accommodation. Too warm in the good weather, and the hotel should offer a fan for their warmest rooms/windows without a breeze. Hygiene, location and service were good though. Thanks. Nearby activities: Good location for all nearby activities.
We made a last minute booking to take advantage of a good weather week whilst we were in Sussex for another event. Having stayed before I was familiar with the hotel already. However I found the service so friendly and helpful and the room so good. We were only 1 minute from the pier, 3 minutes from restaurants, and a couple of minutes from the seasonal stalls selling knick knacks and food. So everything close to hand, the room was clean and comfortable and we had a great sea view. The lift is a great asset at this hotel, particularly for the elderly dog who no longer does stairs. This was a really enjoyable 2 night stay Rooms: Great value, clean room, the view Nearby activities: The pier, seafront with all the activities plus restaurants only 3 minutes away. Walkability: Really central for the seafront and not too far from the bandstand either
