No vegetarian option offered for evening meal. They thought a handful of salad leaves out of a bag was salad! They had no idea what a salad should be. There was very little thought or imagination put into the menu at all. There was no outside seating area, so could not sit outside for a glass of wine or a cup of tea. There was no telephone in our room and no bath mats or bath mats in the shower which was not non slip. The bedroom itself was clean though. However, on the whole I would not recommend.

We had a pleasant stay at Afton Hotel. It's quite basic but very comfortable and the staff were friendly. We didn't try the breakfast, so not sure about that. The location is perfect in this beautiful beach side town. Right opposite the Pier and close to the shops in town, walk to beachy head.

Had a lovely weekend in Afton Hotel. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and rooms with balcony and sea view amazing.

Hotel was just as it said on website great value for money. We booked a double room but was given a twin. when we reported to reception they did give us a key to double room but it was far too small for us so we stays in the twin room which was bigger and more lighter. Breakfast was 7.50 each and was ok. Fully cooked buffet style english. with cereals juices coffee and toast. We booked through booking dot com and was told they do not do breakfast. Was also unaware that when booking in we was asked for photo i.d. and a deposit which was not taken off of our card. Hotel staff were very helpful and overall stay was good. Even entertainment was ok.

I wish there was an option to rate this HORRIBLE hotel lower than 1 star, when attempting to park at the hotel after being informed on the phone there was parking for the small price of £1 for the night. There was a long walk before I could find any kind of parking, I asked at reception about my room and there was all kind of confusion I was given a smaller room than asked. I walked into my room to find mould in the ‘new refurb room’ and it was very cold, there was no curtains and the bed was very uncomfortable, I would 100% avoid this hotel no matter how cheap it may seem it is very deceiving.❌🚫❗️
