Cavendish hotel poor customer servicennI was a guest of room 109.nnOn 31st of December we arrived to Cavendish Hotel Eastbourne reception to book a family sea view room but one of rude receptionist didn’t greet neither did eye contact denied to book a room stating that there is no sea view room vacancies left to book.nnI never saw someone with this kind attitude especially on front desk.nnI went out of hotel checked online called on the number given to call for booking and a gentleman on the phone was really helpful and he managed to book me a sea view room for 2adults and 1 child we were excited for our stay but unfortunately the unprofessional rude receptionist again denied to assign a room by saying that the room is not a sea view room and she said I should’ve listened to her as she knew more than the head office gentleman.nnReceptionist made me so confused double minded so I asked her if it’s possible to view a room before we proceeded with payment she denied that too, when I asked her for refund than she said I am giving you keys but don’t touch anything in the room.nnWhy would I touch anything. This lady definitely doesn’t understand customer service neither a good human being.nnI got the keys came to check the room it was an average room but not worth of money booked for as it was non refundable booking so I paid for a room, meanwhile when I was doing payment with her colleague she was keep telling her colleague that the place stinks which definitely wasn’t a nice comment to pass while customers were there to check in.nnI personally felt that the receptionist was either a racist or a mental health patient otherwise she would’ve behaved more professionally.nnI travel to different countries stayed in different hotels but never encountered someone like her. She is definitely a stain on Britannia Hotels Brand, she is bringing the standards of hotel down.nnI am sure I am not the only person being discriminated by her she definitely had discriminated others too.nnI would request to give her a customer training by treating every customer with same care and respect.nnUnfortunately because of her poor customer service I didn’t enjoyed my stay and would never return back to Cavendish Eastbourne.nnSome memorable outdated pictures of room where we stayed. Please don’t waste your time money on this hotel instead book Cumberland or Hydro which is a way more better hotels.
The check was staight forward and we was pleasantly greeted, the room while being large and enough space for us, felt cold when we arrived, there was a small eletrical heater in the room, which we left switch on, what was a suprise not folder in the room explaining the hotel layout, breakfast times etc, not the end of the world, but unusal. yes we went the week before christmas and it was very empty, and while breakfast was plate service for the cooked, the service was not what you expect from a hotel. We didnt there again on our 3 night stay. Yes it was clean and comfortable, but it did fell a little dated and in need if some TLC, like the inside of the lift has been poorly cleaned. If you want just a basic room to put your head for the night it's ok.
Not a great experience here. Room was an exec but dated and maintenance issues were very evident. There was an all engulfing teenage party going on in the downstairs function room that took over the reception area and the bar. They were playing loud music so having a quiet drink was out of the question.nnThe room had an empty fridge in it. I asked for a bottle of water but was told they didn't have any. They managed to provide a plastic jug of tap water with a cardboard coffee cup.nnBreakfast was a buffet with cooked option. The only waiter was grumpy and stank of cigarettes. The coffee was just self service instant coffee sachets with a boiler for hot water. Yogurts were left out and at room temperature. The cooked breakfast was ok but the toast was just warm bread and there were no pastries.nnAll together a rather sad experience. The hotel looks quite grand but the overall experience falls far short.
We had a Groupon deal for dinner, bed, breakfast ,and a bottle of wine. We arrived early to ask about the carpark. The receptionist was extremely helpful . She also checked to see if our room was ready we were two hours early It was, so we paid for 24 hours parking and took our luggage to our room.nWe had booked a seaview room. It was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The panoramic seaview was superb.nUnfortunately, we couldn't open the window which seemed to be locked.nThe tea and coffee facilities were generous.nOur three course evening meal was very tasty and the young guy serving drinks in the bar, was superb.nThe breakfast was excellent, with a large selection of cereals, toast, yogurt, fruit , pastries, continental choices and a delicious full English breakfast.nWe had misgivings about our stay , due to having read some poor reviews. However, we enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the Cavendish hotel. Our only complaint would be that the bed wasn't very comfortable. I think the mattress needs replacing, otherwise our stay represented excellent value for money in an extremely convenient and pleasant location, with friendly , helpful staff.
Our stay here was disappointing, despite the amazing seaside view the state of the room was far from nice. The beds was two single beds squashed together, window ledge had dead flies cobwebs and other debris all over it, both chairs was riddled with unknown stains, they provided tea in a used sandwich bag, the kettle was had limescale all over and the temperature in the room was catastrophic with no way to regulate.
