Stayed here on Friday 5th of December and had an absolutely stunning room for a very reasonable price! The young lady on Reception was absolutely amazing and very polite and professional! The lady at the Bar that evening was a little bit of a let down to the atmosphere, but overall very good! That being said, I also stayed at the hotel last night Sunday the 7th of December. And my stay was TOTALLY DIFFERENT! I was placed in a room where I have received 100 % definate animal Flea bites!!! And the card socket on the wall was constantly SPARKING and lighting the room up, as well as making a noise! But the thing with myself is don't like any form of confrontation!!! So I didn't go down and say anything to the Reception. But had I done so I believe they would've changed my room for me. But just have to give an honest rating. So overall very reasonable price wise! It is kept to a certain level on cleanliness depending on rooms, most of the staff are very polite & friendly, and the location is absolutely fabulous !!! Oh yes one last thing before I forget. As its right next to the sea it is VERY WINDY! And that wind resinate throughout the WHOLE HOTEL! Including rooms and hallways! The main entrance doors had to be closed on the 5th of December due to the wind and taped off! But again I'm not running it down, my overall ratings are at the top of this. Room 3 * Service 3 * and location 5 *
I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel very welcome throughout my visit. The building itself is old but absolutely beautiful — full of character and history. It’s a shame that from the outside it doesn’t quite reflect how charming it truly is inside.nnThis is a historic hotel that forms an important part of the city’s heritage, and it truly deserves to be appreciated and valued again. I hope it receives the recognition it deserves.
JustGo holidays, Christmas 2024. Stayed in room 133, disgustingly dirty. Stains on carpet, broken furniture, lamps, phone. Popcorn and hair down cushion on chair, debris by bedside cabinet. Window frames rotting away, extractor fan from kitchen adjacent to frame was noisy for hours.We complained and they sent cleaner, but little better. 4 on our table had fish on last night, and all had sickness and diarrhea. We were too ill to get on homeward coach, charged for extra night. JustGo holidays useless as they never answered our complaints or compensated us for train tickets £180 to get home. Sent photos and emails to JustGo, and Cavendish and they practically ignored everyone we sent. Both companies an absolute disgrace. Be warned…..
Lovely location, right across from the beach. Just down from the pier. Buses stop outside. Short walk to town centre. Staff were very helpful. Food was very good. Hotel and rooms were a bit tired, but clean.nWent for a tribute weekend, had an excellent time.
Terrible hotel. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Dirty rooms with cracked windows. No housekeeping for the week we were there. Same type of food every evening. You can only get a drink from 6pm.No snacks or tea/coffee available during the day. Not catered for.
