Last minute booking booked 2 rooms one twin and 1 large double bed at the very top of the house. the twin room had no hot water and ripped curtains and skid marks in toilet and smelled very damp, The double room smelled very badly of damp even on the pillows and towels. The only plus ws the lady that greeted us was nice. We had to leave early hours of the morning as we had a medical emergency so cannot comment on the breakfast.
Kurt is a wonderful host, very helpful & accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay, it was a very lastminute booking. We had large 1st floor room, bright & airy with huge comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again, location is perfect - it is close to the beach, restaurants, shops, nice walks to the beach or cliffs. Parking voucher offered if if you want to park closeby £2 per day. Breakfast was great too. We would stay there again
The room was small And clean with shower and , WC inside the house itself had that old fashion feel , about it ,I like it that way ,the breakfast was plentiful and the owners were happy to serve you they were most helpful . Location very near the pier and close to the heart of the town Good value All roundRooms: 3/5
I didn't book this! But wasn't impressed it was freezing cold, the bed was clean but so uncomfortable so hard and felt like plastic, cracks in the celling the window were dirty it needs up dating & a good clean , very basic ghe breakfast was very small & not very hot !glad it was only 2 nights !!!Rooms: 1/5
Lovely comfy, clean, tidy room. Great for our one night stop over, seconds from the beach & town. Kurt the owner was so friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Don't expect luxury, but if you want a clean, tidy room this is just right.Rooms: 4/5
I just had a wonderful three night stay at Cromwell House. Kurt and his lovely wife truly went above and beyond as hosts, offering nothing but kindness, warmth, and incredibly personalized attention. A couple of examples: when I mentioned I planned to hike the South Downs Way, Kurt gave me the map he uses for the walk, and when I casually mentioned being a fan of pancakes, I was surprised at breakfast the following morning with a DELICIOUS plate of them, in addition to the excellent traditional English breakfast they offer. You can tell they both take great pride in what they do, and one simply can't put a price on such generous and attentive hospitality. The fact that this all comes at such an incredibly reasonable rate is a huge added bonus. If and when I return to Eastbourne, I will certainly return to the Cromwell House.
My husband and I are staying in the small double bedroom on the ground floor. It had a small en-suite shower room. The room is comfortable. There are coffee/ tea facilities available. Breakfast is well catered for including dietary requirements which my wife hasgluten and dairy free. Overall a pleasant stay especially for the Eastbourne Airshow.
My wife and I stayed there a few days mid September 2021. All together a nice clean Guesthouse with comfortable bed and fair size double room. The owner Kurt, is a very welcoming and accomodating host who served us with a delicious breakfasts each morning which included good veggie and halal options. Cromwell House is ideally located, only a stone's throw away from the pier, seafront and only 10 mins walk from the train station. A good find!
I booked two rooms: one single and one for two persons, personally I didn't have any complaints. My room was cosy, only the shower was confused. Cold = warm and warm = cold! Took me sometime, until I figured out why I was only getting cold water. Breakfast was also very well taken care of and the host was very polite. We have only one point of improvement: my mum complained about the shower being dirty, but this wasn't the case at my room!
Just beware !! Booked this last year as a no deposit, pay when you arrive to go to tennis June 21-23! Once my tennis tickets were confirmed I rang hotel to make sure booking ok ! They couldn’t find it so I emailed Booking.com. Finally sorted, still had booking! Last Friday 28/4, £160 had been taken from my credit card, no receipt, no contact at all to say that this was happening! And under ‘Marine Parade’ . I rang hotel, he stated that they had taken it, and when I tried to query it. He just said that it was his home and that he didn’t want me staying there, so he cancelled the booking and hopefully refunded my money ! Obviously at this late stage I can’t get anywhere else ! Very disappointed
