The hotel is in a fantastic location, beach, shops, and plenty of amenities close at hand. I stayed at the Cumberland hotel for a tinsel and turkey break, I have to commend the staff and Phil for the lovely welcome and all the effort to ensure your stay is the best for you, the food here was excellent and we had a lovely sea front room, however for me, I found the entertainment dictated my a large group who have visited the hotel for 15 years, its sequence dancing not adverse to it plenty of requests here, which takes up the time, a bit of line dancing/ some singing entertaining and I understand you can not please everyone, but maybe more variety of music played so those without a partner may dance, it's a great hotel, just missing the opportunity to bring in more custom. Excellent stay,room very nice and spacious, very clean .Excellent choice of food for breakfast and dinner. There are areas that just require a little TLC but overall we have no complaints and had a wonderful holiday.Rooms: 4/5
Lovely food, great staff. I was dissapointed with our room, as I was told I would have a room with a sea view and a walk in shower, as I had helped with the organisation of our party from the Vyne Woking. I did not get either. I did not complain because I was so cross and did not want to get myself upset on my holiday also we had unpacked. Food & drinks: Food is great but drinks at the bar are quite expensive

We've stayed here a couple of times now. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly, polite and helpful. It's in a great location too. Our beds were comfy, the sheets were clean and there were fresh white towels. The bathroom was a bit small and awkward but it did the job! We'll stay again. Very happy.Rooms: 4/5
Our hotel was good with everything we needed including a lift to take us to the floor we required. Polite staff on hotel reception. Perfect location to sea front. Not far from the Pier. Staff very nice, polite and helpful and quick to bring food to the table. The food we had was very good but we could really of done with more choices. A few creaky floorboards but that didn't matter. Our room was okay, we had a bath and a shower, plenty of storage, a TV plus tea and coffee making facilities. We couldn't fault it. Would return again.
Stayed here to be safe when my home went into garage and payed good price for seafront room but had misfortune of being kept awake all night by some young lad who had issues.. .never felt so unsafe in my years as travelingRooms: 2/5
Dear The Cumberland, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment with my recent experience at The Cumberland Hotel. Unfortunately, the conduct and attitude of your hotel manager, Max, have compelled me to bring this matter to your attention. Upon our family’s arrival at your hotel after an exhausting journey, we expected a warm welcome and a comfortable stay. Regrettably, Max’s behavior was far from welcoming. His actions and attitude were extremely inhospitable, making us feel unwelcome and undervalued. In addition to Max’s behavior, we were disheartened by the treatment we received from the luggage handlers who exhibited a lack of courtesy and friendliness that fell well below the standard we anticipated. Their conduct further added to our disappointment. What was most disheartening was the use of inappropriate language by Max and some of the staff. Such language not only created an unpleasant environment but also displayed a level of unprofessionalism that is unacceptable in the hospitality industry. Given the distressing experience my family endured, I kindly request that you take immediate action to address this matter. Furthermore, I respectfully ask that you consider compensating my family with a week’s stay as a gesture of goodwill to make amends for the unacceptable experience we had. I trust that you will treat this complaint with the seriousness it deserves and work towards ensuring that all guests at The Cumberland Hotel receive the welcoming and respectful treatment they deserve. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to hear from you soon with a resolution to these issues. Sincerely,
Overall enjoyed our stay and room was clean and comfortable. Had a seaview and balcony which was excellent. However there were a couple of things that let the hotel down a little. There was only a very small sachet of shower gel and small circle of soap provided and the towels were small and mine was almost threadbare. The staff in general were polite and friendly although the person who checked us in on arrival was not particularly helpful providing no direction to our room. There is no room service available. Hotel is in a excellent location being located in the central area of the seafront. Will definitely visit again.
