A wonderful week. The first holiday, my wife and I have had for many years, and it really was quite WONDERFUL! The room was plain but nicely furnished with all the nesseccary furniture and facilities as was the bathroom. There are stunning sea views from the terrace. The varied menu is first class served in the fine dining room. The service is excellent, not only at meal times but the willing staff are always on hand should you require assistance. All in all a very memorable holiday, easily comparable to many hotels I have visited across the world. Excellent!
The staff were lovely, the downstairs does not match the rooms. The dining room was beautiful. Adequate food on offer with our coach holiday. My room had a leaking shower, the wall paper was falling off the ceiling, is in desperate need of some updating. If you want a drink at the bar. You may want to take a paper with you as the wait time is uncomfortable. The bar man was lovely but was rearly present when having to collect glasses. Under staffed
The staff are very friendly. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. The rooms are clean, tidy and what you would expect for the money they charge, which is very reasonable compared to a lot of hotels. We have stayed 3 times and will certainly be back .Rooms: 5/5
I wouldn't even give this one star if I could get away with it! They'd forgotten our booking, room was ok, very small TV in an awkward position to be viewed, no shower supplies. Water was cold. Breakfast advertised between 8 and 10 - we went at 09.20 , no food, had to wait 45 minutes for them to get some, with staff acting like the customers were wrong to be upset about that! It's not exactly a cheap breakfast! Heard several other customers complaining that they'd paid for breakfast but weren't in the list so had to pay again and then wait 45 minutes till the kitchen got around to supplying more food! Tried to complain but 3 times told manager would call us back they didn't! Eventually spoke to a manager who wasn't interested and said he had more important things to deal with, was annoyed that I kept ringing - eventually offered 50% refund because 'we had slept in the bed!'. Avoid this like the plague!
Having checked on the internet, we were worried about the accommodation. We need not have been worried, although work is being done, the scaffolding is a little off-putting. Yes a fresh coat of paint would not come amiss, and a little t l c could be given, however we found that:- The bed linen was crisp, clean, and dazzling white. The shower was nice and hot. Food was good and plentiful, nicely presented. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful. What we found very annoying was the very strict times that we were allocated to eat our meals. At 7.55am I asked if we could go into the dining room. The answer?? No you are booked in for 8.00 a.m.
Been here before in the summer. Love old building. Great decor. Came for Tinsel & Turkey. Good food and accommodation but could do with new windows. Secondary double glazing let's in a little air and when wind blows it whistles. Not good.
Was allocated room 312 which had a dual aspect , that was the best thing , the windows were filthy , double glazing was missing , bath sealing was mouldy or missing and rusty shelves , the room was unfit to let with cobwebs on fittings., approach reception and was offered room 403 which was of a standard you would expect clean and in very good condition , whoever thought 312 was fit for purpose has very low standards . Food was good with lovely staff , especially the young Italian lady on reception who sorted suitable room ,
My sister has just stayed here. Freezing cold rooms, hot water was a rare treat, food scanty, cabbage every night, function room cold Some guests were given electric bar fires as there was no heating. Bathroom v small hardly usable. Not recommended at all
Not enough fans to go around. Basic room. The only upside is we got a sea view room. The hotel management could have been better. The TV in our room didn't work but the maintenance guy got it going.
Don't stay here, while room was okay, decor was extremely run down in corridors to rooms etc, in the middle of the night there was shouting and banging of doors and staff didn't sort this problem. Complained to receptionists in the morning, no apology but just smirking and unhelpful. There are much better places to stay, avoid this one.
