It doesn't even deserve a star. Hotel was out dated, carpets were really warn and dirty. Shower curtain was very filthy. Shower didn't even work!!! There was not hot water and the room was really cold when we arrived. Took hours for us to sit in our room comfortably, as it was so cold! But we thought we were only here for one night! Our evening was disturbed by drunk teenagers running along the corridor and kept knocking at our door. But the worst happened next morning! One of us woke up and the whole body was covered with bed bugs bites! I'm not going to even mention how much it was lacking accessibility! Seriously what an traumatusing experience!
Excellent value for money. We stayed in a triple room 113 and it was absolutely delightful with a sea view. Tea and coffee making facilities. Lovely old massive bath tub. Sheets and towels perfectly laundered. Mattresses very soft but acceptable. My son loved it and can't wait to return. Highly recommended!Rooms: 5/5
Incredibly friendly staff and great rates for what you get! The staff checked us in early when they noticed us with all of our luggage moved from the USA AND they upgraded us because they thought our suite wasn't large enough! We didn't eat at the restaurant unfortunately. Although the decor is old it still has charm but could definitely use improvement. Adding tea/coffee stations and new carpet would set them up for success. I would definitely recommend this place!
A very shabby hotel, a musky damp smell hits you as you walk into reception, but that is the least of the problems, Room not very clean purple curtains stained with bleach patches, dirty old nets, very old beds, we stayed in a triple bed room and the single bed looked as if it would break at any minute !!. But the mattresses both felt comfortable and the bed linen looked clean but the bed itself didn't smell very fresh didnt want to lift the bottom sheet and look ugh ! thank goodness we only have to stay 1 night ! .it truly was sluming it ......never again .I am guessing a hostel may have been a better way to grade this hotel but that may not have been fair to the hostels in the area. But I have to say the guy on reception was very friendly and helpful.
This hotel is in a great location. I had a restful and comfy two nights. Raj and the other reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is not the fanciest and has a few quirks, as most old Victorian buildings do, but I think it is very good value for the price. Hot showers, coffee and tea making facilities, hairdryers available upon request, TV and clean sheets. Right next to the beach and 12 minutes walk from the train station.
Nice hotel. Great value for money. Not even 5 minutes walk from the sea. Had room 101. It was nice sized and suitably clean, though bathroom was a tad cramped and toilet paper not next to the toilet for some bizarre reason. The room numbers are arranged unconventionally and it was a slight struggle to find our room, though that's very specific to the room we were in. Room service were very nice. Didn't use the breakfast, so can't say much about it. Overall well worth it. Definitely would come back if we're ever in Eastbourne again.
Although this hotel was reasonably priced. The room was very small, not particularly well cleaned. The reception staff sent us in the opposite direction we needed to go. He told us turn left, left up the stairs and left again.......should have been right etc. The only good thing about the room was a comfortable bed. The 'continental' breakfast consisted of a selection of very stale croissants, only 1 type of bread seeded for toast and frankly anyone could have helped themselves as no one checked you in! Could have saved myself £10.00 extra paid for breakfast!
Horrible smelly and noisy place! Disgusting! Very nice pictures of the rooms on the internet but... reality is really disappointing! Rooms and especially bathrooms are outdated and clearly need refurbishment . Horrendous smell of onions and spices being cooked in our room and the whole hotel !!! No noise insulation at all so you can hear people in the corridor, in rooms above and next to you and in the street!  Impossible to sleep in such conditions!  Friendly reception staff who offered another room but the smell was everywhere so it didn't make any difference. The manager refused to talk to us on the phone and said receptionist to tell us to email! Disgusting! This hotel clearly doesn't deserve customers. We didn't sleep for our 2 remaining nights as it was too disgusting and haven't been refunded, so I call that a theft!
It’s a cheap joint so you can expect only what you pay for or less. The place is run down and tired with an equally unhappy receptionist / manager/ chambermaid all in one foreign looking dude . Location is good .The beds were comfortable. Carpets and room walls look dirty . Don’t expect any room service other than the coffee cups and coffee sashes refreshed . There was even 2 pints of milk sat on my window ledge from earlier users of the room, which took a nice long drop with a satisfying explosion;when I opened the window. If all surrounding hotels show a no vacancy sign but this one has rooms to fill definitely shows the condition . I got a double room facing the backside where all the toilet pipes run with early morning toilet smell helping you get up early without an alarm or a receptionist’s wake up call . Also helped in getting a lot done during the day starting early and finishing late .
Dirty, out dated, towel rail was broken, toilet roll holder broken. A cup had been used as an ashtray and placed upside down on the saucer with out being washed. The biggest problem I discovered was that there was no safety catch or rail on the window at all. We were on the top floor and window was low down close to the floor. It was dangerous and dirty and when compared to a different hotel of the same price I.e citrus a there was no comparison. The difference is extreme.. Would never stay again
