Was a bit apprehensive after reading previous reviews but was pleasantly surprised at room 15. It was more than adequate and plenty of storage space. Bathroom a bit narrow but clean and no problem with plumbing at all. Pull handle up to flush. Bed comfy and linen clean. Couple of loose floorboards but this didn't bother me. Good selection for breakfast although different from pictures. Location great. Staff friendly and polite. Only downside was the shower didn't have enough pressure but still able to shower. Would stay again. Rooms: Room 15 on top floor great view of tennis courts and close to theatre Noteworthy details: Great location close to seafront
Came for the weekend to meet some friends from Eastbourne. Was pleasantly surprised with how great our stay was. Self checkin was super easy and meant we weren’t under any time constraint to get to there. There’s a lovely sitting room where we could chat and relax while waiting for our friends to meet us - I want the colourful rug, it’s gorgeous! We had all the necessary amenities - smart tv, WiFi and even a coffee machine. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower is a little small but great pressure more important in my opinion. Stay was room only but we had a lovely breakfast nearby. I highly recommend and will definitely stay here again when we next come! Thank you!
Shambolic, grubby, NO breakfast, unmanned. This hotel boasts and advertises award winning breakfasts - THERE WERE NO BREAKFASTS! The owner boasts a friendly and professional atmosphere with friendly staff. The hotel was unmanned, there were no staff present apart from someone who knocked on the door ONCE, and an electrician. Had to be let into the hotel by other guests because all doors are keycard operated. Zero communication, no reception and no communication of codes prior to arrival. Beds were never made up and the coffee tray was never replenished. Bathroom was disgusting, difficult to say when it was last cleaned. Overcharged for the parking permit. Owner very rude when we attempted to complain, put the phone down on us. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Well deserved four stars for its decor and delicious breakfast. The whole guesthouse is well decorated and looked after. Great that you can check in automatically through a key code and then get your electronic key card. Bed really comfortable and clean and good to have quick WiFi, and USB points. Downside is the size of the room which is reduced due to having to use some of the room for the ensuite which is tiny but clean. Also, double glazing is a must nowadays and also black out curtains. Brilliant for a long weekend when you're out and about just need a decent place to rest your head. Many thanks, enjoyed my stay.
Great place! The host was helpful and the front room had a good selection in the honesty bar. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, and the lift to the rooms was an unexpected bonus. The breakfast was brilliant and very filling. Lots of parking available when we got there. Would definitely recommend and book again.
I didn’t try breakfast so I can’t attest to it’s quality. The hotel itself isn’t too bad, parking is limited around the area though so luck needs to be on your side. The place is looking a little frayed around the edges and maintenance could be improved. The shower head needs repairing and descaling. The sink in my room didn’t drain away properly. And a broken toilet seat. I didn’t complain about those things as I was only there to sleep whilst working away. The owner? is very friendly though. The noise from the surrounding area was marked with people singing and a full on argument in the street. Not much the hotel can do about that but it’s worth being aware of.
A very well presented building and contemporarily furnished. Staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was second-to-none! Although the room was largely clean, unfortunately the blinds were particularly dirty and the mugs didn't appear to have been cleaned. That said, we'd happily stay again
Room was dated, shabby and poor cleaning standards. Only the service staff available to fix any issues or problems in the morning only as TV & coffee machine were not working on arrival. Comfy beds. The guest house is in a prime location to access restaurants, seafront, theatre and town centre.
Very small twin room for 2 people with bags and tennis equipment for 4nights. Window sills and blinds needed cleaning BUT excellent location, lovely staff, comfortable bed and good breakfast.Rooms: 2/5
Our third visit to this splendid b&b. A warm and friendly welcome. Comfortable bed with nice touches in the superior room we were given. Ipod docking station, dulce gusto coffee machine, complimentary fruit and bottled water, bathrobes and slippers. A wonderful selection of food at breakfast? , just about everything you could wish for. The full English was served piping hot and puts many a 4 star hotel to shame. The hotel is in a brilliant location close to the town centre and promenade, as well as theatre and tennis. Wouldn't hesitate to return. Thanks to Darren and his team.
