I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived.nnMy rom was cleaned every day, and fresh towels were always provided. Whenever I asked for tea, coffee, or biscuits, the staff were happy to provide them. I also forgot my adapter, but the reception kindly gave me one for my stay. Overall, a welcoming and comfortable experience. Highly recommended!
I stayed at NOX Hotel Golders Green from Dec 10–12 and was very disappointed compared to my previous excellent experience at NOX Belsize Park. My room 210 had a strong damp/mouldy smell that never went away, even with the window open. There was black mould on the shower sealant, broken basin sealant, and rusty fixtures—clear signs of poor maintenance.nI reported this to staff and asked for a different room, but none were available, and nothing was resolved. For £110 per night, this is unacceptable and raises health concerns. I hope management addresses these issues promptly, as the location has potential but needs serious attention to cleanliness and upkeep.nI also contacted NOX Golders Green and the Head office but even after three weeks there has been no reply.
I have stayed at NOX several times before, always in Kensington.nUnfortunately, this time I made a mistake with my booking and accidentally reserved a room in Golders Green instead.nOnly five minutes later, I called the hotel to ask if it was possible to transfer my booking to the Kensington branch. Naturally, I was told it wasn’t possible although, in fact, it would have been but from the very first moment, the staff were dismissive and completely unwilling to help.nI then sent an email, mentioning that I had stayed at NOX several times before, but just five minutes later I received an immediate rejection from the Golders Green management. I sent another email to the central address –> no response. A week later, I tried again// still no reply. The customer service is absolutely non-existent.nI have been coming to England for many years, and I have never experienced such an arrogant and unhelpful attitude. When I arrived at the hotel, I raised the issue once more, only to be met with the same condescending behaviour. I have worked in hospitality for ten years, so I know very well what options exist. They simply chose not to assist me.nI even offered to pay extra for a room with a window “None available,” of course. I said, “I feel punished for my mistake I’m human, can we do something to make it a bit better?” The answer: “We are not the ones punishing you,” followed by an arrogant smile.nThat was enough for me. this will be my last stay with the NOX group, ever.nAs for the room itself it’s absolutely terrible. It smelled of old frying oil, the walls were dirty, and it was located in the basement, small and dark like a cave. Much smaller than shown in the photos. When I arrived, there was hair on the bed. The toilet appeared to have been cleaned, but only superficially. The small kitchenette was filthy: the coffee machine hadn’t been cleaned, the kettle was covered in limescale, and the sugar next to the coffee machine was hard and damp. Dust everywhere .not even the headboard had been wiped.nFor me, this stay is not worth even one star, but unfortunately, I have to give at least one.nArea is quite nice but far away from the center .nUpdate 25.10 : Offensive ignorance from the manager after this review . Other guest get a „ hello“ I passed her twice no eye view nothing .nAbsolutely not recommended.
The room and staff. For context, I booked and paid extra for a studio/room WITH window. When my friend and I arrived at the hotel, it was day time and pre-check-in. So we left our stuff and went about our day. By the time we returned, it was night time. Before bed, I opened the curtains/blinds so that there would be day light in the room when we woke up. As it was dark out, I couldn’t see a single thing. It was pitch black outside. We woke up the next morning to see that what was actually outside was a building site. It appeared to be the attic area of the would-be building and it completely covered the side of Nox. Literally, there is no space between the two buildings. This explained why I couldn’t even see streetlights outside the window at night. There isn’t even a view of the sky. And what’s worse? There were multiple male construction workers going about their work day with direct view into our room. I made eye contact with them. I know my words will not accurately express how exposed we were and how close this building was so I have window..Naturally my friend and I both female shut the curtains to maintain some semblance of privacy. This was NOT a windowed room as I paid for and it was falsely advertised and sold as one. When I explained this to the two staff members Stefania and Andrea they were borderline condescending in their response. Essentially, they blame booking.com for not knowing about the construction next door while simultaneously insisting that I did get a window room even though that window was functionally non-existent. They were so rude to my friend and I expressing no empathy for the circumstances.nThe bathroom was also poorly attended. It was generally neat but I wouldn’t call it “clean. There were many marks and scuffs and unclean/moldy corners in the shower which is indicative of lack of attention to detail. Dont bother with this hotel.
Okish for a budget hotel especially in UKnnBad: we got in the room, we were supposed to have 2 separate beds, but they couldn't provide. Smell wasn't pleasant. However room and bathroom clean and silent. Receptionist are not enabled to give any help out of handing keys and giving instructions.nnGood: budget, clean and silent, location is very safe Jewish town even late at night which these days is definitely a plus in UK, Golders green station door buses and tube is 10 min walk.
