I can only speak very highly of this hotel. I booked a room for the great north run. The room was spacious and clean. Bed was good and comfortable. On the day of the run porridge, bananas, water and chocolate bars were given for free. Also the hotel had organised taxis for people to get to the starting line. I had taken a late check out 2pm but it took us a very long time to come back from South Shields so we arrived after 3pm. They had taken our stuff from our room but gave us for free access to another room so we could shower and change.The hotel is centrally located and close to everything. I will definitely go back there next time I am in Newcastle.

I stayed here for one night for the Great North Run, which made this a very expensive stay considering the room was standard for a Travelodge as expected. The location was great for the run 30’ walk to the start and 10’ walk to the train station. The service and the staff were excellent, they made such an effort for the run, including complimentary porridge, snacks, water etc. and organising taxis for runners, which made a real difference for the weekend.

Good location. Welcoming check in. Everyone we met was smiling and friendly.  Place and room were clean .nSpacious room . Only disappointment was weak shower.  Plenty varieties for in house breakfast.  Room rate last minute excellent value. Will stay again any time.

As a wheelchair user, I booked an accessible room expecting certain features: a wide door, a wet room, and a low bed. However, the room only had a low bed and a disabled toilet. A bath is of no use to a wheelchair user, and the floor should also be non-slip for safety.nnI also booked a haptic pillow as I am partially deaf, but none was provided, and the room wasn’t ready on time.

The rooms are too hot but comfortable bed. The location is ok however if you were in the wheelchair, then you will have trouble in a manual wheelchair purely because the restrictive doorways at the lift and at the accessible bedrooms especially room 73.nThe fan available is a complete death trap.nTrying to move the fan it is held on by a bit of tape and the front falls off while the fan is going. Somebody is going to lose fingers by using these deathtrap fans.nnOtherwise the staff are excellent
