Lovely hotel. Room was great-clean, modern and beautifully presented. All staff I spoke to were so friendly and helpful. I did not sleep well but this was no fault of the hotel. It is city centre... it's currently freshers week... and I like to sleep with a window open. Although I did not sleep much... the noise from students reflects how well placed the hotel is in regards to bars, restaurants and night life. I did not have breakfast included which I did not realise, and come the morning, the gent on breakfast explained everything, and was a pleasure. Unfortunately after a cup of coffee I started to feel nauseous and had to leave, so sorry if I seemed rude! So I can't comment on any of the food, but if all other areas of the hotel reflect the food and beverage offering, then I would trust that it would meet expectations. Thank You, I will bear you in mind when I am in the area again.

This hotel has recently undergone a major refurbishment and Its fabulous. The new look and brand new rooms are beautiful, as well as an addition of spa treatments. Fantastic stay here, I would highly recommend.

Not as nice as the price tag suggests it should be. Great location in the centre of Newcastle on the beautiful historic Grey Street. There are lots of bars & restaurants within walking distance. The big let down with the hotel is that the fit and finish is a little rough in parts and the cleanliness could be improved.

A beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of historic Newcastle. I stayed for four nights, midweek with my teenage Son. I chose Grey's because I wanted a central location where I could meet up with friends and family. We loved the look of the hotel, a beautiful Georgean building on Grey Street, voted one of the most beatiful streets in the U.K! We were upgraded free of charge to a suite, Richard Granger suite. The decor and it's use of local history and characters is interesting. The room had everything we needed, comfy beds and a large bathroom. This is a brilliant location for exploring central Newcastle which is packed with trendy bars, restaurants and shops. I enjoyed early morning walks and exploring whilst my son had a lie in! Close by is the quay side with all the famous bridges including Tyne, swing and millenium. Easy walk to the Baltic art gallery, sage music venue ( amazing architecture!) as well as two small theatres. Then there is the Cathedral, Castle and theatre royal, all close by. We also enjoyed visiting Eldon Square shopping centre which is just up the road and the traditional victorian indoor market, Grainger Market also close by. All in all a great city break destination if you want to combine shopping, eating out, sightseeing, theatre or cinema. The theatre royal is just up the road, as is a multi-screen cinema and the quirky arthouse Tyneside cinema, in a city that combines the old and the new so well. The staff here are very helpful and friendly and it felt like a relaxed and welcoming place to stay. The housekeeping was good and they somehow managed to clean our room efficiently and top up toiletries and tea/ coffee in short space of time even though my son didn't want to leave the room until the afternoon on a couple of days! If you ask for a bath robe they are provided free but you do need to ask. I had my own mini spa sessions with products I bought from lush in Eldon Square shopping centre! The only negative, which staff cannot control is the noise from the street. Newcastle is a big party destination and between 12 and 3 midweek there is noise from the bars and revelers walking up and down the street. Thursday seemed to be student night from what I could see out of our window! Maybe invest in some good earplugs! We booked well in advance and I thought we got a great deal on the room ( non refundable option was cheaper ) particularly with the upgrade. I will definitely stay here again given the opportunity.
