My daughter and I stayed at the St. James’ Court, Taj Hotel for a long weekend last month and were really impressed. It’s listed as a four-star property, but it truly feels closer to a 4.5 or five-star experience. While there were some exterior renovations underway, there was no noise or disruption inside — everything was spotless and elegant. From the bellman to the front desk staff, the service was outstanding. We had a small issue with a smoky smell in our first room, but the team handled it immediately and upgraded us to an even nicer one.nnWe didn’t have time to try the restaurant, but the fitness center and spa were exceptional — much larger and better equipped than most London hotels, complete with a steam room, sauna, pool, and relaxation area. Overall, excellent value, warm hospitality, and a level of service that exceeded expectations. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it
The Taj hosted our company conference in early September and did an excellent job making sure everything ran smoothly. The team went out of their way to accommodate us.nnThe rooms were spacious, very comfortable, and had all the amenities you’d expect from a hotel of this standard. The conference room and lunch were well received by everyone, and the staff kept the tea and coffee flowing with great attention to detail.nnThe spa facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the location is excellent. I look forward to returning for another stay.
This place was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and professional. Breakfast was all little spendy however there were so many choices. Wish I could have eaten more. The pool was down, could still use sauna. Room was beautiful. Loved having a fridge, robes and slippers! Lots of little extras that just made us feel special. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay!
I last went to this hotel many years ago but now with more than one refurbishment and one currently under way, this hotel exuded class. Large spacious rooms, beautifully appointed which aren’t that easy to find in London and at favourable prices. Just round the corner from Buckingham Palace, a two minute walk from the tube station St James, one of the best Chinese restaurants in London, but perhaps one of the biggest selling points they gave are their wonderful staff. It reminded me of a long time ago when service was important, well it still is here.
I had a 2 night stay in 2 King Premier Rooms with an extra night for my son and chose St James’ Court as it was near St James’ Palace where I needed to be on the Friday. This wasn’t a cheap option but as this was a special occasion I thought it was worth the expense.nCheck in took well over 40 mins. We arrived after check in time but only one of the rooms was available. We were all asked to wait in the room that was ready which I’ve never encountered before - usually I’ve been offered refreshments in a bar or coffee lounge.nOur rooms were in a different building and the access was outside and it was raining! We all got wet.nMy son complained and we were given a credit for the room.nThe following day after my investiture and a meal I brought guests back to the hotel rather than find a bar. There was limited space in the bar and we were sat at a very narrow booth which was difficult and uncomfortable. There was nowhere to put our coats so they were hung over the back of the booth bench seats. No toilets were nearby and my guests had to go out in the rain to get to the restroom.nMy room was much smaller than that of my son. On the Friday evening I went to bed early to watch TV. Unlike my son’s room the TV wasn’t in front of the bed but on the left hand wall - not comfortable to watch so I gave up.nWas I disappointed- yes, very. What was a very special occasion was definitely spoilt. Was it worth the money - definitely not. Would I recommend this hotel - no.
