We absolutely loved it. Location is close to everything, all the staff I interacted with amazing, friendly and approachable and you can open the window in your room. Yes there isn't aircon in the rooms but it is a first for England to have a scorching summer. A lot of pubs and shops don't have aircon in London either so it's just not something that is a standard everywhere yet. The cleanliness was perfect, fan was delivered to our room upon request and honestly can't fault this hotel. I will definitely reccomend to everyone coming to London although I probably don't have to as it is busy anyway. Thank you so much for our lovely stay.
It has been almost seven years since I stayed in this hotel with my mum on my first visit to London. While I don't think it was an an awful 1-Star Hotel, I do think there are things that need to be improved on. It was an adequate hotel in my opinion. The room that we got given had two single beds on either side, a TV, a bedside table, a bathroom and nothing else. I wouldn't say I hated it, but it was very small and cramped for my liking and there much space. I prefer having separate bedrooms, personally.nnThe staff were fine, but I didn't find them very conversational or engaging to be around and I didn't feel like they made an effort to really be welcoming. While it was clean and well-kept, the room was still a bit too small and there was no bit of atmosphere, fun or exciting down in the lobby. At least one time, we were by ourselves in the hotel lobby and there was literally no social activity going on, e.g. no games, no bit of music, no other people, etc. It was just me and my mom and we both agreed it was a little empty. Breakfast and dinner was only decent, but not cooked as fresh as it could've been and there wasn't much on offer. We had eaten here one time.nnSo, as far as London hotels go, this one was not my favourite and I would say it was a bad part of my first trip to London and I would prefer a different hotel or if there was more things to do here or more, better food items. But, I did like the fact that it was clean and it was still in the middle of London, so it made it easy to go into the city. I'd say not a great hotel for a family and friends holiday, but okay for a school trip around London or among teenagers or people with not a lot of money. But, overall wouldn't recommend. 4.5/10.
The room was clean, and adequate. No signs of bed or carpet bugs. However the room retains heat all day, and the window only opens a crack. So even though they promptly brought us a fan when requested, it did little to relieve the heat. The hotel is also right by an ambulance station, so we heard sirens all night, as well as loud engines racing down the street. We brought earplugs and were fine, but beware if you're a light sleeper. The breakfast is adequate, but crowded. All in all, the stay was a solid three of five stars. I probably wouldn't stay here again. However, they had a sleeper sofa for my son, which saved us from having to book a separate room for him. The location is also convenient.
For a 3 star hotel, I am not expecting too much, as long as I have a room with a bed, I'm contentnnCheck-in probably took way longer than it should have, also since when did hotels start asking for ID, even though I'm a British citizen?? Anyway, because I booked our room as a member or something, me and my friends were giving free breakfast the next morning on day of checkout which was unexpected and a very nice touch.nnThe rooms are standard, all had clean beds, room was clean, just no air con and those rooms can get very stuffy and dry and window doesn't open far enough for obvious reasons, and it was a hot day, also very noisy, but that is London to be fair.nnThe location is good, not too far from Euston station and we can walked to some cool areas and go through some lovely parks and green spaces to those destinations.nnI recommend if you just need somewhere to stay and it was good value for the three of us and good location in City of London.nn*Would have given it 3 stars overall, but it gets an extra because the free breakfast was a genuinely nice perk to get for being 'guest of the day'.
A most outstanding hotel. Fantastic location. Excellent night's sleep. Very friendly staff. Good facilities. Sunday roast beef was exceptionally good. While the hotel is quite dated in some aspects, there was some degree of refurbishment happening while we were there. Would absolutely stay again in future
