What can I say, it’s a northern line station! It’s an important one. Four platforms means you get all kinds of services going down towards Morden, and services up through Charing Cross and Bank! I would find it a bit more convenient if some trains went all the way to Battersea Power instead of just terminating here. Oh well. The platforms themselves are pretty standard and kept clean but I do like the wooden bar around the roundels.
Kennington park is lovely in the summer. Many different areas, place to eat at restaurant, and English style flower garden is a must see with beautiful flowers everywhere
Sorry, I'm not impressed with the Tube. At least not this Northern line. The trains are very bouncy. The platforms aren't level with the train and require you to step up to the train. Also you tons of stairs and no escalators.
Forewarning that some trains terminate at Kennington so make sure to read where the train is heading first, which is located at the front of the train.nnThis station is key infrastructure to the Underground. Connecting central London, via the Northern line, to the USA embassy with the two station extension at Kennington. Taking passengers to most importantly Nine Elms, but also Battersea Power Station.nnPlease note you may need to switch trains at this station for the two station extension to Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station. Overall, a very calm station that isn't too busy.
I do not understand why the trains on the northern line cannot go both ways via bank and charging cross and why people always need to change FROM NORTHERN LINE TO NORTHERN LINE?! Thanks God the change is just across the platform but I know the trains can go both of the routes and they just make people suffer and change all the time if not in the peak times where they charge more money because of the time of the day. The station itself is in the horrible condition - walls are dirty with mold, plaster and paint coming off and flooded rails…… and mice and horrible signage as typical for the tube here
