Has lifts to go upstairs. I decided to walk on stairs and not wait for the lifts. After sometime I've noted the sign and then an announcement that there are 193 stairs to go up equal to 15-store building :. It was good exercise, but if I knew earlier, I would go with lifts and save my energy for walking. :
Covent Garden Station is a well-located Underground station on the Piccadilly Line, perfect for accessing the lively Covent Garden area. It’s just a short walk from the famous Covent Garden Market, West End theatres, and many great shops, restaurants, and street performances.nnThe station is quite small and does not have escalators, only lifts and stairs. Be aware that the stairs have 193 steps—equivalent to a 15-storey building—so it’s best to wait for the lift unless you’re up for a workout! ‍ It can also get very crowded, especially on weekends and evenings.nnIf it's too busy, Leicester Square Station is only a short walk away and might be a better option. Despite the crowds, it’s a great station for exploring one of London’s most vibrant areas!
I mean, it's Covent Garden... If you've not been here, you'll likely want to try dropping by to walk around the beautiful area. If you have, you'll probably know how crowded it gets, despite the many different walking and shopping options you get.nnThe tube station is relatively straightforward, but just note that the lines are dug really deep, so the lifts and escalators coming up to ground floor gets extremely crowded. If you have baggage, make sure you account for the crowd.
Good place for a visit if visiting for the first time. The train station is easily accessible and has lifts, but to get to the platforms there are still extra stairs to navigate.nnThe station itself is clean generally as far as stations go.nnThe alternative to the lift is a lot of stairs, almost 200, so hope the lift is available.
While not perfect, nor fully accessible, this station does a decent job of taking people to and from Covent Garden area.nnFrom the Piccadilly line platforms there are 20 steps up to the bottom landing for the lifts.nnThere are four lifts which hold around 30 people each. Travel time is about 30 seconds.nnUnfortunately the spiral staircase is before the lifts and too many people use them.nnIt is over 130 steps up and only truly fit people should attempt it.nnEven when busy the lifts are fastest.nnThe station is under 100 metres from the piazza. The ticket hall is step free. It has a separate way in and out.nnThere are several ticket machines near the way in, and staff to assist.nnOne thing to be aware of, is that on weekends, at certain times the station is exit only.nnHolborn and Leicester Square stations are short walks away and will provide a more comfortable experience when it's busy.
