Great stay, only marked the room down because the bathroom needs decorating and the skirting was terrible.nStaff were lovely. The breakfast was set up really nice and had a nice layout. The evening meals are expensive but we had burger and chips and it was cooked nice £19.99 each.nThe location is more or less central to most things and really close to the shopping centre, which is fairly big.nIf your going to the utillita arena it's more like a 30 min walk not 10 from here, we got a taxi and I'm so glad we did lol.
Great location right underneath the Tyne bridge, but the decor is in desperate need of a refurbishment. Room was adequate with a nice comfy bed, but it was freezing cold when I arrived as both windows had been let open! Breakfast was ok, but quite limited. Had a nice meal in the restaurant though. Shame about the tired decor. The location deserves better.
This Premier Inn location is by far the worst one ever stayed at! The check in process took forever, the hotel room and walls were disgusting and dirty, the windows have creepy bars on the outside of them, it’s like staying in a creepy dungeon room. The WiFi is slow and only had one set of towels for two people. In addition to that we didn’t get the room we booked and paid for! We were to get a premium plus room had screenshots to prove it, was told nothing can be done and their management was absolutely NO help and not apologetic for the matter. They told me to call Guest Relations, gave me the phone number and carried on with their business. Then called Guest Relations and they were closed! Basically nothing was done or fixed because all of the premium plus rooms at that point were booked! You’d think they’d offer some type of compensation for the miscommunication and error on the company’s part, but nope! Absolutely not helpful at all and hospitality doesn’t exist here. Never Again!
I stayed at this premier inn about a month ago. I had travelled for 4 hours and got there pretty late.. about 10pm. I asked the receptionist as well as the manager whether I could warm up some food - rice to be precise. It was a blatant refusal stating health and safety policy.nnI was a little over 7 months pregnant, tired and hungry from my trip and also have gestational diabetes so my glucose level was quite low leaving me quite weak. I explained all of this to the manager and it was still a blatant no! No empathy no compassion nothing. Told me to order food.. it was already half 10 at this point plus 30-40 minutes waiting time.nnIt was such a terrible experience… no human touch to the people I met that day.. I get that there are policies but if we’re going to be so rigid with them even in emergencies then we’re no different than robots. Never staying there again
Premier Inn Newcastle City Centre The Gate is an absolute winner when it comes to comfort, convenience, and hospitality. Located right in the heart of Newcastle, this hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the city’s vibrant nightlife, shopping, and cultural attractions. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, you’ll find everything within easy reach.nnThe staff here are truly exceptional—friendly, professional, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure guests have a great stay. Their warm welcome and attentive service make all the difference, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere from check-in to check-out.nnThe rooms are spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. The beds are incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a busy day in the city. With modern amenities and a peaceful ambiance, it’s the perfect retreat.nnOverall, Premier Inn Newcastle The Gate delivers top-notch service, a prime location, and unbeatable comfort. Whether you're here for a short stay or an extended visit, this hotel is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!
