A wonderful location with the romantic atmosphere of Victorian England, with a very kind, even warm-hearted team and a completely acceptable price/comfort ratio! I definitely recommend it, given the existing alternative options in the region, unfortunately with double and even triple prices, absolutely not covering the content...Rooms: 5/5
This location was GREAT! That is definitely what drove the price up. We came with another group so had 2 hotel rooms. Our room service was great and we received water bottles, turn down service, and fresh bathroom amenities each day. Though our friends did not receive this and did not have the 'do not disturb' up. All in all, I would still recommend this for the location if you're comfortable with the price. There's a Cafe Nero right outside, as well as a Tesco convenient store. And it's 5 minutes from the Green Park metro station and about 15-20 minutes from Buckingham Palace.
I must apologize for the delay in writing this review as I was traveling and just returned to India . Despite the delay, I felt compelled to share my wonderful experience at Washington Mayfair. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the front office staff. It was truly refreshing to be welcomed so warmly, and I must extend a special mention to DEEP at reception, whose friendly demeanor added a personal touch to my arrival. The entire front line staffs including DEEP & ANDREIA, went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and hassle-free. Their courtesy and support made me feel valued as a guest, and I am sincerely grateful for their assistance throughout my stay. The room provided was not only comfortable but also spacious, offering ample space to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring the city. Moreover, the hotel's location is unbeatable. Situated centrally, it was just a short 5-minute walk to all the major tourist attractions of London, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. In conclusion, my stay was truly delightful, thanks to the exceptional service provided by the front office team and the comfort of the accommodations. I am already eagerly looking forward to my next visit in November this year and cannot wait to reconnect with the wonderful staff who made my stay so memorable. Until then, see you soon and god bless. Rooms: Very specious and comfortable.. Nearby activities: City Centre Safety: Located in a very safe environment , away from the hustle of high street shops . Walkability: waking distance to underground
Not a luxury hotel, Poor hygiene in the corridor, you could sense the smell while walking down. Lifts were small with broken buttons. Small rooms but reasonable for a short stay within vicinity as prices of hotels are high in this area. My best part was seeing a TESCO express in front of hotel along with a mediterranean restaurant Food was just OK , That made it easier for me to buy necessary stuff for my stay. Nearby activities: Buckingham palace is only walking distance from this hotel. Walkability: There is a huge Park with lot of greenery and walking track once you come out from hotel toward piccadilly road main road
I stayed at this hotel for a week and to think this hotel charged £320/night is really astounding. For a price like this you would expect top class service and luxury amenities - this was far from reality. I arrived at the hotel before midnight and there was no offer of help with my luggage, I had to haul them up myself. £100 deposit at check in seems somewhat unnecessary also… The room itself is extremely outdated and extremely small; the furniture hasn’t been renovated in what appears to be decades and the curtains have easily visible stains and holes in them. The air conditioning is an extremely old piece of equipment in my opinion and could only drop to 19 degrees Celsius, which does not keep the room cold at all. The daily housekeeping provides the most basic of cleaning services. The bathroom was fairly modern but the bathtub was extremely small and the shower head showed signs of limescale build up. The third-party Laundry provided they employ are laughable. I provided housekeeping with four items that needed washing, I specifically mentioned that three items had stains on and they assured me the provider would remedy this. However, when I received the laundry back these three items still had the stains on. They only offered to take back one of these items to remedy, which they did, but still I was charged for the entirety of the laundry although two of the items were still not wearable. in conclusion I would not recommend this hotel at all even though it’s location is somewhat convenient. There are several other hotels in very close proximity that I would recommend including The May Fair Radisson Collection.
This place is totally not a 4 star hotel: old, dirty, staff is not polite. I booked a room with breakfast included and when I arrived for breakfast they told me that they got some issues and it was not possibile to eat but they didn’t remove the cost of breakfast from the room. Overall price is very high for everything and the quality is poor. The towels of the toilet were dirty and with holes… unacceptable! But above all the staff is unpleasant. I will never come back.
I walked into the lobby and two concierge were talking and watched me enter look around and then one very slowly grab my bag and moved it 2 m to the wall and pointed to reception I walked to reception the young women was polite but gave me the wrong check in details to complete and had copied my passport to another persons an American after I completed it I asked her again about it and only then did she realise the name didn’t match the passport or my booking After much discussion and she was very apologetic I got my room key I walked back over to my bag grab it and walked across the lobby - the 2 men watched me then I asked where is the lift and they pointed to another door the other way Well what about done help ? None offered they continued their conversation - I struggled to the door got thru it and into the lift - I arrive at the 6th floor - looking for my room another staff member was there and pointed to a small set of stairs telling me you are down there - again no help so with my suitcase I struggled to my room The hall way was old and outdated - apparently they are renovating it but not yet The room however large and pleasant everything new - my room looked out onto a whole lot of offices and they could all see in my room - there was no sheer curtain so either you had to have the curtains drawn or everyone could see you ….seriously get some sheer curtains ! I went to have a cup of tea and both the cups and kettle were dirty - I actually took my cup of tea downstairs to show receptionist it’s was that bad On my return they had replaced both the kettle and the cups - thank goodness No mini bar and no conditioner - so after having a shower and washing my hair my hair looked like I had just got out of bed ! Seriously This is not a cheap hotel but I was far from impressed - even low cost hotels help people with their bags and offer service and are polite I felt that there was no warmth or service culture in this hotel - no one seamed to care or offer any service to the customers I didn’t have breakfast so can’t tell you anything about that - good news is that with a bit of training and some enthusiasm this could be a good hotel ….a few changes could make a big difference As a solo female traveller it felt quite uncomfortable and a little unsafe and I simply didn’t feel welcome REVIEWED after reading response I am not sure what footage you were watching but it was not me ! I did not get any help with my bags on my way into hotel and only got answered by staff after I asked for help ! Point being here is that you could address the concerns and take action OR sadly as you have done take aim at the constructive review - your response states more about the hotel which is clearly lacking service and responsibility for it Rooms: Rooms are freshly renovated- large for London with bath room - a little small - shower is over the bath so no walk in shower Nearby activities: You can walk to the Ritz, parks, station and M&S food hall - across the road is a Tesco and coffee shop - also barber and bars and an Itslisn restaurant & Japanese restaurant too Safety: The area feels safe and not far from train station Green park Walkability: You can walk to local shops coffee shops restaurants and bars - very close to Green park station - from there you can catch any of the hop in hop off buses
Staff very rude, doormen horrible rooms stink, aged hotel! Very expensive would not recommend. Ok location even taxi driver did not recommendRooms: 1/5
A Real Learning Experience regarding customer service which seemed a distant second priority behind profitability. Lesson #1. Prepaid breakfast. • If you miss a breakfast, too bad, you paid for it, NO CREDIT on the next meal. ••Learning: NEVER pay upfront for anything at this hotel. Lesson #2. Bar Tender Short Pours. • If you order a double, you get 1¼ shots. ••Learning: If you desire a double, order a single, have Yesh pour it, then ask for another shot before he rings it up. These may seem minor in total costs, but they create a set of real examples that could destroy an otherwise healthy business. I would have rated it a 5, but these examples rate it "barely" [2] stars. Rooms and facilities tend to be the same everywhere. Customer Service is the primary differentiator.
I don't understand how this is a luxury hotel or where the 4 star rating comes from. The pictures they have posted are misleading. They make it look like the rooms are really nice and luxurious but they aren't. The first thing I noticed was that the floors are really bouncy and squeaky. I was scared that the floor was going to crack open. The doors to the rooms slam shut and make a really loud noise. The room we stayed in was very gross and a lot of the furniture was damaged. There was a mirror in the room that was damaged, it looked like someone ripped part of the mirror off and then they just glued the piece back on. Why not just replace it with a new one? Also the ceiling had a lot of cracks on it. The curtains had weird stains on them and the wall art as well. We flipped the mattress over on the bed and found a whole bunch of hair and small trash. The walls are really thin, I could hear people showering and using the toilet. The floor was really squeaky and loud, it was hard not to make a noise at night when walking around. The only good thing about the hotel was the cleaning staff, they were always nice and friendly. Some of the front desk women were nice and some looked like they hated their jobs. I'm not sure about the the little men in uniform. I thought they were suppose to greet people and help with luggage but I never saw them do that. Most of the time I just saw them staring at people. Based on my experience, I don't recommend this hotel. I give it a thumbs down.
