This hotel does not look like the pics at the moment. Visited March 2024. Currently undergoing a soft opening, having previously been used for asylum seekers. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Room is very clean and comfortable, although lacking plug sockets and lighting configuration. For bathroom light to be on, all lights had to be on one switch. Continental breakfast was lacking. Just cereal and toast. Coffee from machine tasted odd. That said, it has the potential to return to being a nice place to stay once soft opening and refurbishment has been fully completed. No complaints as only paid £100 for 5 adults, staying one night. Would consider again if needed in the future.
The hotel was ok with spacious rooms but in need of refurbishment. Location was great on the seafront. Rooms: Rooms were spacious with comfy beds but in need of a refurb Nearby activities: Very close to the centre and restaurants, ten minutes walking
Had read some reviews that made me wary but had a lovely spacious family room. Service was great and would stay again.Rooms: 5/5
Nice location with very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay.Rooms: 5/5
Rooms not great and needs updating Shower didn't work and no air conditioningRooms: 2/5
Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel rundown not very clean and the lift is a death trap. We stayed for two nights. We have stayed there before and loved it so returned. Even with the difficulties of the last year the whole place has become very run down and not well cared for the bedlinen was clean but has seen better days the bed was hard and the springs very prominent. The bathroom well I have seen better in 3rd world countries. The breakfast was good. Leaving this review was not easy and needless to say we certainly will not stay thereagain
Staff were very friendly. Upgraded to a suite upon arrival with a beautiful sea view. Only negative was cleanliness. The room was ok though a bit tatty and needs redecorating. The communal areas are grubby. The stairs don’t seem to get hovered ever. Cooked breakfast was not good at all. The scrambled egg was dry, I could tell just by looking at it, baffles me that a chef would allow that to leave their kitchen. But otherwise a good location and fine for a bed for the night.
Citrus Hotel is one of the nicest hotels that I stayed in and without hesitation I give 5 stars for everything. I was greeted for my stay by the lovely friendly staff on reception. My room was absolutely beautiful, spacious with lovely sea view. There was even a personal welcome card with chocolates on the bed. The room was beautifully ventilated. The bed and pillows were so comfortable . There was a lovely selection of crisp white towels that were so soft. The breakfast was delicious and service first class. This is a wonderful hotel where the staff and Manager excel in kindness and amazing service. The Citrus Hotel is definitely Eastbourne's best kept secret. I am extending my forthcoming honeymoon to stay for a few nights at the hotel.
I stayed from 30th July - 1st August. The hotel is not as clean as is advertised. The beds were rock hard. The one coat hook in the room was loose. There was mould in the toilet/shower. The towel shelf was rusty. There was virtually no water coming out the shower head. The carpet was filthy and the cutlery at breakfast had dried food on them where they hadn't been washed properly. Where the hell is the maintenance team and the cleaners in this place. We were there 3 days and we didn't see a cleaner once. The staff were very pleasant but the group that owns this hotel shouldn't be in this industry because they have no idea. Management, please look at room 209. My son was in 309 and my daughter in 316.
Reception was nice and very quick we arrived late at night. Room was very spacious and plain. We had amazing sew view. Bed was big and comfortable. Hotel is quite poorly sound isolated but it didn't disturb us much. Hotel looked clean. Breakfast was very average and coffee quite undrinkable so soon after we had to go to look for Costa Coffee. Hotel lounge is very cosy. Staff was quite friendly. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.
