Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous - my partner and I decided to treat his parents and ourselves to a night at the Lansdowne Hotel as we'd already been there for afternoon tea and on another occasion evening drinks before going to the theatre. We can't praise the hotel highly enough - the restaurant manager who we believe is from South Africa and also the deputy housekeeper who we believe is probably local and we were treated like royalty as they couldn't do enough for us. Every standard within this hotel exceeds it's 3 star status and we will return regularly and enjoy the fantastic service, food and hospitality that this establishment offers. Our rooms again far exceeded the 3 star standard and the facilities cleanliness and service were all one could ask for and could knock spots other hotels with a higher star rating. Thank you to all the staff at the Lansdowne who also welcomed our little dog and made as much fuss of him as they did us. He was even served his own sausage at breakfast time.

Good hotel and position. Our room was clean and ample storage furniture, have to say your housekeeping staff do a fantastic job. Our room was serviced to a good standard, please thank them. The staff were efficient and friendly (bar one male waiter at breakfast who seemed to forget our tea/coffee we ordered). Self serve breakfast ample to eat but would prefer the cooked breakfast to be hot rather than warm. We had meals in the bar in the evening and have to say they were excellent as was the staff. Good value for money all round

Had a lovely stay for my mum's birthday at beginning of Jan 18! Our room was fantastic (we booked for three adults with one dog and weren't disappointed!) with a beautiful sea view. All the staff were friendly even though there was a big event on and the breakfast included was delicious. Very affordable as well. All in all, would definitely recommend.

This was a second visit to this Edwardian hotel right on the seafront. Very warm and friendly staff with excellent facilities. There are several small lounges which make it very cozy. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. We didn't use the resturant for an evening meal but instead had a delicious lighter me in the bar. All in all a lovely break.

The hotel is well positioned on the front and the breakfast was quite good. However at the weekend most of the space that could be used for guests to lounge in is given up for events such as weddings and afternoon teas. This put a damper on the weekend. Not good Best Western!
