My Mum and I had afternoon tea today and it was lovely. The hotel was clean and welcoming, nicely decorated and very warm. The sandwiches were incredibly fresh with ample tasty fillings. Scones were very good and there was a great selection of cakes. We will definitely return.
Had dinner here and an afternoon tea. The level of service for both was as average as you can get. They need a front of house who knows what they're doing and can train the staff accordingly. I hear the rooms are quite good, but all thins considered, I would probably choose to stay in an apartment if I was in town for any longer than two nights.
Just back from a 2 night stay at this gorgeous hotel for a pre 70th birthday treat with my husband. I've stayed here a couple of times before and I will definitely choose this hotel again and again. The rooms are super comfy and clean, the staff are amazing and the food is well worth staying in for. I really can't fault anything about this hotel. Come and stay and be treated to old world charm and hospitality.
Invited to Christmas part night by my employer. On arrival, queue for the only ɓar that was open was huge, spent nearly 20 minutes waiting to get a drink. Food was OK but abit sparse, roast potatoes anaemic,only 2 carrots and 1 parsnip on each plate. Party room downstairs was claustrophobic and very hot, no toilets and not enough seating for guests. Live band were good but a bigger room would have been preferable.
What a fantastic hotel. Staff are charming, the service exceptional and breakfast was lovely. Great value for money and ideally situated for theatres and town centre. Would thoroughly recommend a stay.
