A nice warm greeting, and good location for a trip into Durham. However the room was in desperate need of updating. Tired decoration, cheap old furniture. The bathroom was tiny and shower was dreadful. Our room was certainly not like the ones in the photos. We didn't want to  eat there so can't comment on the food. We paid £72 for room only, no breakfast included, sadly we were very disappointed with this one. Other customers must be easily pleased, we've experienced much better city break accomodation with breakfast for the same price.

Should be 2 stars not 7. Pretty poor food I'd perfectly honest. Would not recommend or come back.

Came here for Sunday lunch. Lovely surroundings, fantastic food and friendly staff.
