Stains on the floor, dirt on the shower door, dents in the walls, hair dryer doesn't blow hot air, marks on the head board, strange smell in the rooms, no air con, shower doesn't drain properly, toilet doesn't flush properly, food menu has very few options and as this is meant to be a large brand name for promoting fitness I would have expected better food options with clearly labelled calorie content and nutritional value on the menu. Gym facilities were ok but was disappointed in the hotel. However staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

This is not what you'd expect from a Bannatyne hotel. 
It is very dated and looks like a converted old Travel Lodge. The rooms are tidy but dated and in need of renovation. 
The Bannatyne gym seems normal although the hotel relies on the restaurant in the leisure complex which is a walk across a car park and the restaurant again is tired and dirty. Missing food from menus and portions not in line with a health facility. 
All in all poor from such a big brand.

So 1 is a low review and here's why, just to add a caveat so far the staff have been good and apologetic. 

So it's not really a hotel, more of a hostel. There's no real bar or reception/lobby area. More a collection of chairs with 2 Heineken pumps. Not enticing. 

You have to pay, get ready for this, pay £10 to use the gym! Genuine joke. 

Tired rooms, in need of an update. 

The telly restarts itself if you change the channels too quickly. Yes really. 

I used their iron, it was not of the highest quality. 

It's a shame, the selling point of the gym could be great. A little TLC and it would be a banging little hotel. Sad really.

Decent size hotel room, perhaps a little tired but with everything you'd need. The pool and leisure pass was a good addition included in the price when booked direct. Friendly staff, good location.
