The hotel has been beautifully restored to previous glory. The tiling and stained glass throughout is stunning and the modern touches have been considerate to the building's history. The rooms are homely and well decorated although soundproofing could be a touch better, particularly the TV noise in the bathrooms. A few minor teething issues with the staff (believe it's been open two weeks) but they were all so friendly it was hard to fault. A bar in a hotel like that should know how to make a good old fashioned but the barman and manager were so lovely about it, it was hard to be cross, certainly needs improving though. Get a decent bartender in to train everyone for a few weeks. Hoovering corridors at 8am on a Sunday also isn't great, not a wake up call we needed. £12 for car parking is also a total joke. However, none of these minor things detract from a beautiful building and comfortable, friendly stay.

Had just opened 4 days previously. Very nice and staff welcoming. Scones were very dry but cake was nice. All still rather new, rooms and public areas beautiful. Doubt I'd rush back tho

Beautifully restored building, a real nod to its history. Coffee shop tinderbox has a good range of coffee and a peaceful outdoor seating area, with a quite unique view across to the top of the castle. Looking forward to testing out the restaurant.

Had afternoon tea here, was average, but the room was nice. Staff all did and offered different things. Ceiling fittings looked liked giant google home minis.
