Had a lovely lunch here while out with the dog. Lovely friendly staff, dog friendly atmosphere with water bowls and treats for the pooch.nnGood food had the burger which was really nice and a good portion size - not too big and not too small.
Went to the restaurant and it was one of the best in Durham imo. Prices on the higher end as portions aren't the biggest but absolutely worth it, can tell the chefs put effort on the plating and the food. Very cozy atmosphere as well and not very packed.
I had a very pleasant one night stay at this hotel. Very handy for the station and a 10 minute walk from the city center. My room was ideal for one, nicely sized, clean and well stocked with tea and coffee, the bathroom was very clear and looked relatively new. The food was very good with good portions. The staff on arrival were cheerful, welcoming and efficient the same goes for all the staff at the bar and in the restaurant. The atmosphere of the whole hotel is very relaxing. I will be returning soon.
Came here to eat a few weeks ago and was a little disappointed.nnThings started well, mackerel pate was rather nice.nnFish and chips however, just not that good, too greasy, too much batter, fish tasted frozen.nnService decent, lad behind bar made us feel very welcome.nnLocation is nice too, just outside the city centre and they have a nice green garden
Stayed for 3 nights. Rooms fine but very dark. Relatively basic but had what we needed. Ate dinner there once - food was OK. Breakfasts generally good. Within walking distance of Durham centre so was handy.
