Just been for tea tonight. We have often popped in for meals over the last few years and usually use the early bird 2 course and a drink menu. As neither my husband nor I have very big appetites we found the portion sizes quite adequate rarely even having a dessert, therefore we have always been happy to pass on dessert having enjoyed the main course and had sufficient to eat but still pay for 2 courses! Unfortunately tonight wasn’t the case the portion sizes seem to have reduced considerably, we haven’t been in for a while over the winter months as we are not local and we were both really disappointed. The bill was £27 ..... unfortunately tonight we didn’t feel we had value for money at all.

Quiet, very plesant place, with huge, sunny and comfortable rooms. The room was perfectly equipped even for some evening work. The inn in the same building is not disturbing at all. The 'regular English breakfast' is so huge that I could hardly eat it. The staff is very kind and helpful. Next time I come to Durham I will probably choose this place again.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Tv and sofa fairly nice bathroom. Staff are fantastic and very helpful. The pub/restaurant is very cosy and to be honest if I lived in the area it would likely be my second home 😉 Food is fantastic and service of a high quality. Breakfast is brilliant. Not a lot in the area but who cares. Everything you need for a night or so is within the walls. Well done keep up the good work 5*
