This hotel is beautiful and we had a fantastic time here. The service is straight five 5⃣ stars , no compromise..nnFriendly staff, comfortable beds , spacious rooms, clean, window view, high quality breakfast, conveniently located and the list could extend even further.nnI was treated like a guest and I felt relaxed knowing that things are taken care of. However, the Spa is not operational and parking is £11 per night, which is well reasonable. I am glad that I have had the experience of staying here.nnThis part of Durham is beautiful..

Great hotel in a brilliant position. Very close to everything Durham has to offer. Rooms are a great size and ours had a large toilet, with his and hers sinks, a bath with overhead shower and a separate shower cubicle. Plenty of on site parking for £10 a day. Nicely decorated, clean hotel in the centre of Durham.

Great hotel in a great location.  I had the luxury of a suite, which was lovely.  The beds were super comfy, and the room was spotlessly clean. Food was not so great...and at £18 for a mediocre fish n chips, I'd probably eat out instead but buffet  breakfast was fine. Great rooms, really clean and comfortable.  And for the size of the hotel it was quiet.

Popped in for a drink and nibbles despite actually staying elsewhere.nThe atmosphere in the hotel was friendly and relaxed. The bar staff were super nice and up for the challenge of creating my favourite cocktail, despite it not being on their menu.nEverywhere was clean and tidy although I didn't see much of the place.nnPedro and Rachael both really helpful and great behind the bar.nnWill definitely be going back in during this visit to Durham.

I would like to call out Gareth in the hospitality team who does a sterling job. He has great interpersonal skills dealing with guests, always helpful, with a smile on his face. The way he greets guests at breakfast is exemplary, a true powerhouse for Durham Marriott. Well done Gareth.
