Highly recommend. Excellent value for the money. All staff , especially the front desk, was very courteous, helpful and accomodating. The hotel has a comfortable, cozy atmosphere with an exceptional location. Convenient parking onsite at a very reasonable price. On site restaurant was delicious. Happy hour at the bar was a welcome bonus. Three of us for six nights shared a room with two double beds as we helped our daughter move in to her apartment to attend University. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable although the bed was a bit stiff/hard. Generously sized bathroom was modern and clean with great water pressure!
Worst hotel I've stayed in, room wasnt ready at the 3pm check in.nOverall an over priced hotel and over priced Breakfast which was minging at 14 quid for a stale anemic crossant, stale apple turnover, bacon like leather, hard yoked fried eggs, bathroom was tiny so were the towels. No freebies in the fridge, for a £160 room you expect a couple of freebies at least a couple of bottles of water. Bed was ok, but room was warm too warm even with the heating turned off. I would gladly stay at the indigo again just up the road. Stayed in better hotels for cheaper price. Rant over.
We stayed here 'by accident' as our hotel had closed without notifying us. Stuart & Rob were absolutely fantastic! They saw how stressed we were & quickly got to helping us with a room, which was amazing! We were checked in within 20 minutes of arriving & they even gave us complimentary car parking & a couple of drinks vouchers. Fantastic service & we'll never forget our stay. Huge thanks to Stuart & Rob again, we're eternally grateful
This hotel is part of the Marriott group. While it’s definitely showing its age—especially compared to the Doubletree Hilton Angel King’s Cross we’d just come from—it has a unique charm that grew on us. Sure, the facade looks pretty dated, but the location more than makes up for it. You’re surrounded by fantastic pubs including what claims to be the “Smallest Gin Bar in Durham,” possibly in all of the UK!, great restaurants, and you’re right in the heart of the town center. The strategic location is a huge plus.nnWhen we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Gavin, in particular, was absolutely lovely—always smiling and genuinely seemed to enjoy helping guests. He was polite and gave us all the information we needed for a great stay. After checking in, we headed to our room on the second floor. Unfortunately, the lift was broken, so we had to haul our luggage up the stairs. What a pain! It definitely tested my non-existent superhuman strength, but we managed to lug everything up eventually.nnOur room was lovely—spotlessly clean and everything worked perfectly. The electrical outlets, plumbing, everything was in great condition. The bathroom had both a bathtub and separate shower, which was wonderful. I absolutely loved having proper baths during our stay.nnBreakfast was classic full English—nothing fancy, but Delta put on a good spread that my wife and I really enjoyed.nnGavin’s helpfulness really shone through again when we checked out on 1st July, 2025. It happened to be Durham University’s graduation period, so the hotel was packed with graduates and their families—many of whom were moving back to their home countries with loads of luggage. By the time we were ready to check out, it was impossible to store our bags with the front office because of all the other luggage. But Gavin went above and beyond, trying his best to find us space somewhere. Despite all the chaos, he managed to locate a pantry where we could safely store our bags while we explored the town one last time. Gavin is truly a gem and made our entire stay so much more pleasant.nnWe’ll definitely be back again!
Nice hotel quite central not too modernnWe liked the delta hotel and were actually really pleased to find it, as we booked it quite late notice in the day. The room was big enough and the hotel has some dog friendly rooms.nWe also used the restaurant which was nice but not out of this world.nOverall good experience would definitely consider it again if we are in the region.
