Staff refused to get the ramp out due to it being 'too steep to walk on' and so my mum had to struggle up and down the entrance steps. There are lifts inside, but that's if you can access the building first. The 'accessible' room wasn't big enough to fit the walker in, so it had to be left outside. The bath was way too high for my mum to step over, and so she ended up having to have a strip wash in the sink. On the plus side, the restaurant staff were absolutely amazing. They were all very polite, accommodating, and always on the ball. I can't point out any particular staff member as they all did an amazing job every morning. They deserve a big well done. Rooms: The room was just a standard room, nothing 4 star about it. The coffee is ok but the teabags were not nice at all, we ended buying our own. Food & drinks: The breakfast is buffet style with cooked and continental options. Noteworthy details: There is no disabled access or disabled friendly rooms.
I've stayed at the Corus a few times with mixed results. This last time I was given a single room which was tiny, dirty carpet, single bed. I felt like Harry Potter Under The Stairs!! Huge extractor fan outside my window which was noisy. Hotel is nice. Fantastic location and reasonably priced normally, but I felt on this occasion my room did not offer value for money. Staff are good and friendly. Decent breakfast. There were lots of fruit flies ion and around the bar which was off putting.
What can I say, great location, great restaurant and great staff that's about it. Negatives: room smelled so damp it hit you as soon as you opened the door. We had to keep a window open which when cold outside isn't ideal. The carpet is so badly stained that it should be replaced. The shower pressure was horrible. The toilet constantly ran and wouldn't flush properly. Positives: like I said location was great. Staff super helpful. Lunch in restaurant was superb. We paid £146.30 for one night. Would I recommend it for that price...unfortunately probably not. Rooms: Our room was very basic and smelled so damp it was overwhelming Walkability: Straight across from Hyde Park Food & drinks: We had lunch at the restaurant which was fantastic. We also had breakfast but it wasn't included in our room price my own oversight so we had to pay £38.00 for two full English which wasn't worth it really. Noteworthy details: Room didn't have hair-dryer
Pros: great location close to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Paddington, Etc. The staff were all also very nice! When you enter the hotel, at first glance, it looks promising as the lobby is quite nice. As soon as we got to our room, my perception changed. The rooms are small, which is fine. What’s extremely off putting is the smell as soon as you walk into it. It smelt like mildew—so disgusting to the point I was dry heaving at times whenever we’d enter after being out. That alone will make me not book a room again. There is no ventilation in the rooms at all, so I couldn’t even get the smell to leave. The towels, even after replaced every day had this really weird smell. I really wanted to love this hotel. I just couldn’t get enough past the smell and it just made it feel really dirty.
This hotel is in a great location; with the train station, buses, restaurants and many site seeing activities nearby. The rooms themselves were very small, with barely any room to put your luggage down. My group stayed in two seperate rooms. One of the rooms had a musty smell and the other room’s shower didn’t change temperature. After making a complaint I did have someone fix the shower which was good. There was also no heating in the rooms and being in London during Autumn, it was very cold. The breakfast buffet was also pretty average tasting in my opinion. The staff were very nice however.
the air conditioning system is not functioning. I have contacted the front desk multiple times, but unfortunately, the issue has not been resolved. As it is now 6:30 AM, I am finding it extremely difficult to rest due to the lack of air conditioning, and I am concerned about my comfort during the remainder of my stay. Despite my attempts to seek assistance, I have yet to receive a satisfactory resolution. Also, the water floats when I swim I can't swim for long because the water comes out they told me that they repaired this problem but the problem is still there
Great reception staff and good rooms compared by the daily price. Executive rooms hades good space for London but need refurbishment. Business rooms are fresh but too small for 2 people, but it's good for a single use. Overall, it was my 2nd stay, and I will repeat it soon. Rooms: Cleen Nearby activities: Hyde park Safety: Very safe area Walkability: Oxford St. Food & drinks: At lobby
Stayed at the corus for the 2nd time the first being about 7 years ago absolutely wonderful experience, the rooms were immaculate and clean and had everything we needed. The hotel staff were wonderful as my mum has mobility issues and in a wheelchair as there is no ramp it takes a bit of negotiating but the staff were helpful and couldn't do anymore especially the manager whom was on hand to hold the door and help my mum out of the hotel. Food was lovely and plenty of choice at breakfast. Also the location is amazing 10 mins from paddington and 5 mins to Lancaster gate tube
Room wasn’t the cheapest or most expensive however resembled a shoe box, colleague on same rate had a suite in comparison. Decor and amenities were significantly different. That apart it was clean and comfortable. If hadn’t been for business I wouldn’t have been impressed.Rooms: 3/5
do not book this hotel if you have disbilities. i booked an accessable room for 2 nights. when we arrived my daughter asked the receptionist about a ramp. she was told it would be dangerous as it will slope over 3 steps. we had other guests help us get in and out the entrance. the room was so small i could not get around it with my walker. also i was unable to use the bathroom as my walker wouldnt fit through the door. luckily i had my daughter to help me use the tiolet. i was unable to shower or bath for 2 days stay. this has left my health very bad since my return home. there was no heating, a draught from the window. very outdated. definately not a 4 star. i have stayed in better 2 stars in same area.
