If you like small and cozy rooms this is the place! It has a lovely location close to many shops and the underground. the staff have all been very friendly. the only reason the room is not five stars is due to the thin walls with my very loud neighbors. For my first out of country trip on my own this was a great choice!Rooms: 4/5
The location of the hotel is super convenient and the staff service was amazing!! My room was compact but just what I was looking for - do note that the walls are thin and floors are creaky so if you are a light sleeper, you will likely hear lots of sounds. Special shoutout to Izzy - thank you for being so friendly and welcoming!Rooms: 4/5
Really clean and a nice hotel. Customer service is good, hotel workers are friendly and helpful. Rooms do not contain a mini fridge and Air conditioning but overall rooms are really clean and good. Hotel is located In a good place, easy to get everywhere. Breakfast was really good, many breads, cereal, yoghurt, Coffee, tea, cheese, ham etc. Overall really good hotel, Will be booking future stays at the royal eagle hotel. Rooms: Clean and nice rooms, a bit small rooms but that is no big deal. Nearby activities: Good restaurants, shops, tube, Parks nearby Safety: Really safe environment. Walkability: You can easily walk everywhere, but i recommend taking either a taxi or a tube to visit for example buckingham palace or the London center. Taxi fare was not that expensive. I recommend purchasing the oyster card if you choose to travel by the tube, it Will be much cheaper and you don't need to use another card, cause there could be thieves around. Food & drinks: Really good variety of different restaurants in the area, but In every order you get fries even if you order an expensive steak or something like that.
Room a bit small but perfectly adequate for a 3 night stay. The Breakfast was brilliant fresh and plenty of choices available. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again. Location was goodRooms: 4/5
Very average. Room wasn't pleasant, if work wasn't paying I'd have refunded and stayed elsewhere. Wonky, falling apart, mismatched furniture. The extraction fan in the bathroom furrier than a small animal. Peeling laminate on drawers. Pretty dismal really. I wasn't even meant to stay here, the hotel I was booked into could take me for some reason and sent me here! Guy in reception was nice though. Rooms: The very bare minimum.
Wonderful, kind, thoughtful service. From housekeeping to questions, communication responsiveness to email answering the phone quickly everything about them was incredible. They held our bags before room check in so we could go exploring. We had a family suite which included two single beds on the main level with a beautiful giant door, balcony, as well as a loft which had a queen bed and an additional single bed. The room was exactly what you’d expect from such a historic hotel. We were very happy with the accommodations. The room only had one outlet in the main sleeping area and one outlet in the upstairs loft area but we knew about that ahead of time, so brought extension cords in advance. The main ceiling in the main room was very very tall, perhaps 20 or 25 feet high. The ceiling in the loft area was about 6 feet high with portions of it that were lower, perhaps 5 foot or 5 foot one, But everything was perfectly manageable and we were happy to have the extra space in the loft above. Some of the hallways were extraordinarily, narrow, perhaps Only 3 feet across. Definitely some of the hallways are a tight space. They do have elevators, but even if you take the elevator, you might have to go up or down five or six additional steps, depending on where your room is located. You can do late check out for 10£ an hour Up to one or 2 PM. We actually forgot an item in the room, and they found the item and held it for us, packaged it so that we could have it delivered to our next hotel, since we’ve already left the country. 10/10 would love to stay here again, they were tremendous.
Nice location and nice rooms, a bit small but very clean. Maid service attentive. Also the staff very helpful and kind, especially the morning reception staff Nisha and his colleague because I interacted with them more. Even the night staff also super nice, greeting us every time in and outRooms: 4/5
!! PLEASE AVOID !! PLEASE AVOID !! ROYAL EAGLE HOTEL does NOT worth your MONEY and MENTAL HEALTH despite location. First, I checked in to the hotel and they gave me a room and mentioned that they have upgraded the room to a bigger one from a twin room. I was curious but thought that they have good will so I didn't say anything. My room was in the 4th floor, 419, I tried to find the room but there was no label guided to the room it was finished at 418 so I choose to go that way because it was the closed to my room number. Then I saw the label to my room in regular paper pointing the way to the room. The hotel claim to have elevator to every room; however, I have to climbed up almost 20 steps to get to my room. The stairs were really narrow and I have to carry 24 kg suitcase climb up the stair with me. The reception has not mention anything about the stairs. I was okay to go up the stairs to my room until I entered, the room was burning hot. Btw it's room on the roof floor and the ceiling is very low, I didn't book for this room So, I went down to the reception and told the staff that the room is really hot. Staff only told me to turn heater off which I don't know why they turned it on in the first place. I then go up to my room again and turned off the heater and open all windows and turning on 'mini' fans but it was still hot in the room. The windows can only opened less than 10cm. I went down to the reception AGAIN saying it was to hot to sleep. Reception said that there's another room but it's a double bed. He shown it to me but the room is really small. The picture was taken from in front of the room as I opened the door. I book for a twin room not this type of room. I'm not okay. It was a basement room with no window. I told the staff is there any alternative room. I only want the twin room that I booked for but they didn't reserved for me. The hotel said they don't have any available and deny to provide us any sister hotel. They said that these are all they got. I was really tired from my flight and it was around 1 am already. I don't feel like dealing with any of this stuff. I should be resting in bed with the room type that I booked for. I talked to them again and mention that the room is really out, I have talked with them for more than 20 mins and told them to go see the room and feel how hot it was. The reception went up to the room with me and confirmed that it was still hot despite 20mins have passed. I then asked the staff that if I don't want to stay in the hotel anymore, will I be receiving refunds and they said yes but I need to contact through trip.com and they will confirm the cancellation. However, one of the staff was really mean with a bad attitude. He even mention that I can SLEEP ON THE STREET when I said that we do not want to stay in the hotel anymore. Moreover, it is my name who want the refund. I didn't said anything mean to the reception. I told them that I am not okay with the room. I felt really disappointed and furious with how the reception expressed. I request refund through trip.com and moved to other hotel. However, my request got denied 2 hours later, despite the reception mentioning that I would get my refund back. I contact trip.com in the morning and told them in details of what happened and I also called the hotel to ask for the reason why they cancel my request, and the hotel said that it was nonrefundable. They've reversed their words. As a customer, I felt betrayed. The hotel doesn't care about customers at all. This hotel DOES NOT WORTH any pennies. PLEASE AVOID. As travelers who just want to enjoy their vacation in London, I would say to spend your money elsewhere. Don't spend both of your money and mental health here. It's too sick. I haven't received even a penny back from this hotel. They've charged me for a £50 deposit, I'm still waiting if I would get it back because they didn't reversed my card right away when I told them I'll leaving. PLEASE BE AWARE OF SCAM!! Hotel 'TOOK BACK' their WORDS!!
Really enjoyed the stay. Friendly staff, and clean rooms. Excellent access to the London trains, buses. Enjoyed many walks through Kensington Gardens and Hyde park. Lots of different food options within walking distance. Rooms: Cosy, practical, and comfortable. Could have used a small fridge, but it did not detract from the stay. Nearby activities: The parks, and affordable restaurants. Walkability: Couple of blocks from Kensington Gardens. Perfect for an early morning run.
There are no soft closes on any of the bedroom doors, so if you do have the misfortune of staying there, be prepared for a ruined nights' sleep, as there will be loads of door slamming at anti-social hours. As well as the noise pollution, there was also light pollution, as the door did not seem to fit its frame properly, so all the light from the main hallway poured in! Also, the room I stayed in needed a lot of repairs and I suspect of of if not all the other rooms are of a similar poor standard. When I approached their staff to complain that my experience was poor, they dismissed it, so they have lost a customer and I will warn others of this poor experience as well. ***UPDATE BASED ON THEIR REPLY**** As explained to the hotel directly, it was both inconvenient and awkward to raise the issue at the time and as it's more than likely that ALL doors would have the same slamming issues, there was no value in raising at the time for a room move, as that would not have solved and only caused myself more disruption on the hottest period of the year.
