I stayed at the Lancaster gate hotel for 3 weeks recently. Amazing location very close to everything you need on your door step. Bus stop is a 2min walk and it runs 24hrs and 7 days a week easy to use. Very helpful staff and very friendly as well. Rooms are small and don't have much space for your bags a part from that they are fine. No fridge so be mindful of this. Rooms: A little small but is fine no fridge. It has a bath so that's great Nearby activities: Hyide park is just down the road and is a great place for a walk. Heaps to see and do in the area. Safety: It is very save no matter what time of the day or night it is. Walkability: You can easily walk to so many different places from langcaster gate hotel. Food & drinks: Lancaster gate hotel has its own bar that sells drinks. Noteworthy details: I would stay at the Lancaster gate hotel again.
This is a great value just off Hyde Park, very near two underground lines, several bus lines and a reasonable walk to Paddington Station. The immediate neighborhood has several pubs and restaurants, but not an abundance. The room was well maintained and nice, though we were on the floor below street level not quite a basement and I would have preferred being higher. Breakfast was nice and reasonably priced.
Had a one night stay with my sister as going to Royal Albert Hall. Generally staff were welcoming, Sandra was outstanding.. Thank you.. Room very clean, bath with overshower which was a bonus and 1st floor overlooking the street. A bit tired in places but excellent value for money. Breakfast was first class, a buffet continental style with so much choice. 5 mins max to Hyde Park and easy access to Oxford St. either walking, tube or bus. Would definitely stay again
This review might be biased because we got a tiny room on the basement level with little outside light and absolutely no view out of the window. The walls are very thin we could hear our neighbours switching their lights and electric outlets on and off and on the basement floor you can hear the rumbling of the underground. The hotel is clean and the staff is welcoming. The shared spaces are rather cosy. Good hotel if you just need a plave to get some sleep after a day exploring London.
Very outdated and smells horrible. No vending of any kind, no restaurant, breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about. Had to switch rooms due to lack of ac and a window that wouldn’t open. Still no ac, but that’s to be expected, we did get a room with a working window but it was a fight. The shower…ugh that was the worst. Your options are scalding hot or ice cold, there was literally no in between. The only nice part of this hotel was its location.
A bit outdated, but perfect location. The location of this hotel is one of the best in London. It's next to beautiful Hyde Park and Notting Hill. It's also a five minute walk to the subway, so the rest of London is easy to reach. Staff at the hotel are great and willing to help with everything. It's the English hospitality I love. Unfortunately the rooms are very outdated. We stayed at a three-persons room, but it was just as big as a two-persons room. We felt cramped. The floor carpet with bumps and bathroom weren't much better. I don't know if I will stay here again, but have to admit the price and location are great!
Looks nice from the outside however it’s a little deceitful. Staff gave us keys that didn’t work at check in. Hard beds, average size rooms for Europe, paper thin walls. Water was turned off the first night we were here. Very loud construction starting at 8am - makes it impossible to sleep. Would recommend staying more central. UPDATE: lowering the rating because last night at 11:30pm they knocked on each door and woke up all the guests to ask if they had a water leak. Then loud construction started again at 8am. Seriously cannot sleep at this place.
A decent hotel for what you pay. The two biggest advantages are 1 the location to Hyde Park and Paddington Station to get in and around London and 2 bag storage! We only stayed for one night, but were able to store luggage almost 10 hours before check in and another 12 hours after we checked out. That really made the price worth it. Staff was also very helpful and friendly.
Absolutely awful customer service. We canceled two rooms because of their rude and unprofessional attitude on the phone in addition to changing breakfast service standards too. We needed our autistic son to stay with us and instead forced us to cancel. We found a much better and nicer hotel a block away.Rooms: 1/5
The room was fine but the guest service was not at all. There is now iron in the room and when we asked for one they gave it but then the other day when they clean up the room they took it. We asked for it back but we didn't get it. The other thing is I asked for a 1:00 pm check out but they gave a cost for that which is completely different from what it was in the room. Beside I had an online meeting this is way I asked for the late check out but they even didn't apologize or suggest a quite area nearby. Good room but horrible service
