The room was nice. There was a couch, desk and 2 night stands. There were plenty of outlets in the room. The bathroom was clean, but the high sided raised tub was difficult to get out of with wet feet. There was no hand hold or anything to assist. I was also on the back side, and by a rear exit area and the breakfast area. It was loud in the morning, and when people were leaving. The location of the hotel is fantastic, lots of place to eat and relax at.
Breakfast is excellent, room itself totally fine it's small but what do you expect in central London. The issue was that the hot water wasn't working in the room, so I ended up having a cold shower. On checking out I mentioned it to the receptionist who told me that it was an ongoing issue and that she'd note it. No offer to do anything about it. I see from the reviews that the plumbing is a long-term issue, so if you're staying, check the hot water straight away and ask to change room if it isn't, rather than waiting until the morning.
Best Western Mornington London is in a great location with easy access to Hyde Park and nearby stations. There are plenty of dining options around. The staff were excellent—very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was also good. However, the room was quite small, and the lack of a fridge was a downside. Overall, it worked well for a solo business trip.
We would do 0 stars if we could. Best Western are more interested in quantity rather than quality. We understand rooms in London are small but this was ridiculous for the price. Husband had to crawl over wife to get out of bed and, with two suitcases, a side shuffle had to be performed to get between them to the bathroom as there was no other room to walk. Complained about towel rack heater not working and was promised it would be fixed, which it wasn't. Plus cold water in the hand basin was not working. Again advised staff and it was never fixed. When asking about attractions at reception we were handed a two year old brochure and told they didn't really know about any attractions or restaurants/shopping facilities locally. Would never recommend anyone stay here. Friends stayed with other hotels locally for the same price and got much better rooms. Will never book with Best Western again, anywhere globally.
Aside from construction work being done, the room was cosy and the the bed very comfortable. Staff and managers were very accommodating as my booking was made made a day too early and I ended up being a no show. They were very helpful and rebooked me at no charge. It only meant I was staying 2 days instead of 3. I was quite happy with that. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel. Oh and the breakfast was included and absolutely delicious.
I have stayed here multiple times over the past couple of years, and overall, it is a fantastic place. The rooms are always clean and well-maintained and the location is convenient for my work. However, my experiences with the front desk have consistently been marred by the receptionist, Sophia. Each time I have interacted with her, she has been incredibly rude and unprofessional. Her lack of basic courtesy and unwillingness to assist guests effectively tarnishes the otherwise excellent experience at the hotel. I hope management takes note and provides the necessary training or reassesses Sophia's suitability for a role that requires excellent customer service skills.
I recently had a frustrating experience with the booking process at the Mornington Hotel Hyde Park dealing with Abz extremely rude and Wajdy who was trying to tell me a made up policy despite one hour before I was told a polar opposite one. Given that three working days were allowed for payment, I calculated that the deadline would fall later in the week. However, my reservation was canceled by 8am Wednesday, along with an abrupt and hostile message informing me that my booking was no longer available and if I wanted to book it would be over 3,900 over double. He then tried to tell me it wasn't business days it was 24/7 I had to show him his own email stating business days. See screenshots. I had also mentioned in a prior email that I would be able to make the payment by the end of the week and asked if that timing would be an issue. Unfortunately, I received no response. The lack of clear communication and the sudden rate increase made this experience disappointing, especially as a returning guest who's last visit was over 850 pounds. Would recommend avoiding this hotel their customer service is disappointing.
Proximity to Paddington and Hyde Park is reason enough to stay here. Room we had was basic, decent bed, decent amount of space, 1st floor. It was priced appropriately especially since we stayed in summer around the Jubilee.Rooms: 4/5
When I was asked on check out how my stay was, I informed the lady on front desk that there was no cold water alongside the shower pressure issue. The cold tap was hot and the hot tap was almost unbearably hot. She ‘took a note’ on a piece of post-it paper and stuck it against her side of the check-in desk and apologised for the experience to then go on to find out upon messaging the Manager about my concerns, that some how their staff had registered a 10/10 rating from me about my stay! It was the complete opposite and I am concerned that the records have been falsified to this level. I also fed back on check out that the shower pressure despite trying all of the jet settings on the shower head itself was extremely poor. Paired with the fact the water didn’t actually come out of the majority of the holes. I originally planned to wash my hair but was unable to do so due to the time it would have taken and lack of pressure to wash it out. Not to mention the temperature of the shower being almost unbearable to stay under for any length of time. The aircon system was also not functioning so the temperature of the room was uncomfortable all evening and the windows which I understand for safety reasons are unable to be opened more than about 3-4 inches, which resulted in a very poor sleep. Once I had checked in, I wanted to brush my teeth but as explained above, it was unbearable so I called frontdesk to ask for some cold tap water as mine was non existent to be told they would bring it immediately. 20 minutes later... no water so I went to front desk and helped myself to 2x glasses of water which was served there. Unfortunately it had mint and lemon in the water which was a nice touch but as I am sure you can appreciate, not nice to brush your teeth with or make a coffee with! The continued poor customer service and inaccurate accusations from the Manager who wasn't there, all in all, this is somewhere I would never recommend staying again.
Lovely hotel, british countryside style, cozy. They upgraded me the room to a nice spacy room with a sofa. I felt respected and welcomed. Abz from day one was friendly and we had a great chat. He offered me two drinks on the house and brought me coffee the last day before check out. In my opinion, it’s the best hotel in the area. Rooms: Nice, clean new Nearby activities: Paddington, italian gardenshyde park
