With three underground station beginning in the word and five across rail and overground, Clapham is definitely common! This unique station sits between Clapham North and south on the southern stretch of the northern line. I think the station gets away with having little to no station building as it’s done quite well! The platforms are the main reason to come here though, it’s one of only two stations to be fully underground and have a small island platform! The benches sit in the middle of the single platform and could serve both sides of it. You get the train wind from both directions! In conclusion, a nice station.
Clapham common station is a very cool looking station due to the island platform and also the area in general is pretty cool and I would recommend a visit here, especially for any photographers as the island platform is unique.
Lovely Station that is never that busy. Nice middle platform with lots of cafe and shops near by before to go to before your journey. It is the best station to go to before heading off for your walk around Clapham Common.
The station has perhaps the narrowest platform between tracks of any Tube station I've frequented for starters. It's a good station to use though even by Tube station standards as it pops you out at the intersection of Clapham High Street so shops and restaurants are readily accessible. The Common, as you may have guessed, is a short walk away too. An excellent pizza place called Joe Public and the WC are connected to the station too if you immediately need a bite to eat.
It's alway a great place to be at. It's probably the first common I started to go to since I came to London and especially now when temperatures are sizzling hot I try to cut through this lovely place everytime I'm on my way back from work. What is even more impressing is the number of sports facilities including outdoor gyms, skate park and absolutely, absolutely amazing basketball court. You'll find tennis courts, rugby fields numerous benches to sit on and relax after hot or hard day at work. Location makes the travel easiest in the world since you got two tube stations on both ends of the common plus tens of bus stops surrounding it. If you are in London you know what I'm on about.
