Tooting Broadway is a busy, central hub on the Morden branch of the Northern line in Zone 3, serving the heart of Tooting at the junction of Tooting High Street and Mitcham Road. It offers fast, frequent services into central London via both the Bank and Charing Cross branches, so it works well for commuters, hospital visitors and anyone using Tooting as a base for trips into town.nnThe station dates from the 1920s Northern line extension and has a distinctive Charles Holden frontage with shops wrapped around the street corner, giving it a bit more character than a standard suburban stop. Access between street and platforms is by escalators only with no lifts, so there is no full step‑free access.nnAt street level, Tooting Broadway drops you straight into a lively high street environment, with markets, restaurants and independent shops in every direction, and it is the nearest Tube station for St George’s Hospital a short walk away along the main road. A dense network of bus routes fans out from the station in all directions, including multiple day and night services, so it functions as a genuine local transport hub for a wide swathe of south‑west London.
Tooting Broadway Underground Station in the South western part of London is a busy yet efficiently managed transport hub in South London, also serving as a key stop on the Northern Line. Its classic 1920s architecture, with the distinctive London Underground roundel, adds historic charm to the bustling surroundings. The station is clean, well-signposted, and staffed by courteous personnel who assist during peak hours. Trains are frequent and connect conveniently to central London and other major areas. Though often crowded, especially during rush hours, entry and exit are smooth. Surrounded by shops, cafés, and markets, Tooting Broadway Station is both practical and perfectly placed for local exploration. Tooting High Street and the busy markets like Tooting Market, Broadway Market etc. are just walking distances away.
Tooting , Tooting Broadway has busy markets, street food stalls, Asian restaurants, and local shops. It’s known for friendly people, affordable living, and easy travel across South London.
Too busy on weekend. Nice place by all respect, many bars, different kind of food to enjoy, it's a complete market for our day to day necessities to buy. It's doesn't have historic buildings or so. Good for local residents.
