Whenever we are in Ambleside we always visit the Cafe Treff for the best coffee in the Lake District. Friendly staff and a very pleasant atmosphere. We have been coming for more than ten years and always receive a warm welcome from the owners and their staff.

A cosy place with a hint of Swiss chalet theme. Their forte is obviously hot drinks with a huge selection of teas and coffees. The teas are all loose, whole leaf served in a cafetiere-type jug. There is a good choice of sandwiches and cakes but few options for hot food - mainly soup, toast, crumpets and baked potatoes. Orders are placed at the counter then bought to the table. Service was welcoming, drinks arrived in good time and there was a moderate delay in preparing and serving the food. Prices are reasonable and the place is kept clean.

Very welcoming place, good location! Near other shops and the walk to Stock Ghyll waterfall. Staff very friendly, also offer soya milk for lactose intolerant people.

Small cafe in Ambleside. Easy to find. Nice cake and a really nice hot chocolate.

Enjoyed a nice latte and leaf tea , staff friendly , very reasonably priced too , added bonus was a tiny chocolate egg which went down well , plenty of interesting tea's to see and try , coffees too , didn't try the cake but believe it to be outstanding
