Lovely quiet venue, in an ideal setting within Ambleside. When we visited, it was clearly not a busy tourist season, as we found a lovely spot right by the fireplace inside to warm ourselves up, and dry out our socks! ;-) We've been past here many times throughout varies seasons and it's been very busy at times, so a nice popular haunt for those frequenting the local shops in Ambleside, or like us, have wandered in from a great walk amongst the nearby fells. The staff were very courteous and friendly, smart in appearance and helpful with bringing drinks over to us. I wouldn't necessarily expect that kind of service during very busy periods, however. Meals look good, as does the menu, but we haven't eaten here (yet), so can't comment further on that aspect of the venue. Definitely will be here again, without a second thought. Unless it's very busy, of course, then we might try somewhere else ;-)

Best rhubarb gin and tonic I've ever had. After a long walk, we stopped here just for a drink, and were pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was inside, especially the floor having glass so you can see the workings of the water mill. Staff very friendly. When I started to drink my gin, it was like sucking on rhubarb and custard sweet. Lovely!

Delicious meal, friendly helpful staff and a lovely building. Located just behind Bridge House in Ambleside so a gorgeous location. Had a great night, definitely recommend.

Great evening. Friendly professional staff always around when needed. Food delicious too. Nice interior, soft lighting and good ambience.
