What a gem of a place. The apple pie and ice cream were the best dessert I’ve ever tasted and the staff was super helpful and friendly. There were no regular apple pies left in the bakery as it was quite late in the day, but a lovely lady working there sorted us out and went in the kitchen and found a pie for us to take home to London. Lovely experience!
I can't rate this place high enough. The coffee is consistently excellent. Service is amazing. The gentlemen who served us even took our buggy for us and stashed it out of the way. The bath buns are really nice and the Tuna sandwich on brown is delicious. Kid-friendliness: High chairs, kids changing on lower floor. Sugar free drinks. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level seating no stairs. Busyness depending I suppose.
Good cake, great apple pie and lovely drinks! Main courses looked good too although we didn't try them this time. Just what's needed in December in the Lakes, just wish the staff would not hold the door open, it was freezing and we were sat right next to it. Would go again though!
The worst breakfast we’ve ever eaten! A deep-fried nightmare. I opted for the veggie breakfast which came with a burnt Pattie- I still have a burnt taste in my mouth hours later! The toast was just soggy, buttered low-grade bread. It hadn’t seen the toaster! The butter should have been brought to the table for the customer to butter. The “poached” eggs, well…. Were they microwaved? How else do you get snotty, jelly whites and overcooked yokes? Just asking for an edible breakfast. Waiter removed the coffee from the bill when complained. Which is funny because that’s the only thing decent about it! Vegetarian options: Don’t bother. A burnt rice- crispy cake.
Best apple pie I've ever eaten! Great service, great food and we had our two dogs and the staff were so accommodating and helpful! Even got the dogs some sausages for lunch too. 100% Recommend!
Friendly staff and very polite! We had their special apple pie with ice cream and a homemade scone with homemade strawberry jam. On a chilly weather we warmed up with a hot spiced apple juice
Breakfast was fine though the eggs were a bit mediocre and it would have been nice to have an option to have bacon instead of the sausages, of a few more breakfast options to choose from. Coffee was also fine. Very clean and the serving staff were good.
A quick thank you for your excellent service yesterday. We called in for a bite to eat and a drink. I think the service we got from your staff from our welcome, through our meal and afterwards was exemplary. Congratulations on your brilliant customer service. Best wishes, Gerard Ulyatt.
I love the food and staff are friendly and attentive. I love animals especially dogs but in the end they are animals and animals smell. In my opinion if you allow dogs into the cafe there should be a seperated area, preferably away from the main dining area.Food: 5/5
Popped into the bakery for a sugary treat after a wander around the town - the eton mess eclair was to die for! Wish I’d bought two. Reasonably priced for an independent bakery. Served by a very friendly and chatty staff member. Will definitely return on my next visit.
