We don't just serve food, we CREATE food. We are renowned for our homemade cakes & scones. Our riverside seating is popular on a sunny day. Dog friendly

Story

Come and see our beautiful converted 15th Century former corn mill. Try our Hungryman Soup (a pint of warming soup) or Stew of the Day with a chunk of bread. We endeavour to start each day with a choice of over 15 different cakes, slices, scones etc. (all made right here at The Old Mill). Our ingredients are locally sourced and organic where possible. We use the best teas and locally roasted coffee beans from Farrers of Kendal who are one of the oldest indepent blenders and roasters in the UK.
We are dog friendly. Come and visit us with your pooch and sit inside our converted mill or in our lovely riverside garden.

The Old mill, situated in pleasant surroundings, gives this place the 'draw factor.' Its split level interior adds further interest, to this unique and friendly cafe.

Bit hit and miss. Drinks fine and food. Not enough seating. One toilet outside which is literally in a shed.

Soup was delicious but way too hot. Drinks didn't arrive. No cutlery. Been here before and had a much better experience. Shame. Also only one toilet for a cafe this busy is not enough really.

Come here every year.  It has a lovely, relaxed and informal atmosphere, nice food and very pleasant staff. Even better if nice enough to sit outside beside the mill race.  Got to support fellow Norn Iron folk!

Great value lunches and delicious food. Went in here twice last week for soup and a sarnie. Lovely owners are so friendly and the cakes irresistible!
