This place is simply wonderful! Please don't visit as it'll get too busy! 😉 Staff are funny, genuinely informative and chefs are willing to tweak the menu if you want. Ambiance is great and background music (v low) was great too. Very reasonable price for 2 meals with drinks too. What's not to like?

Great food, great atmosphere, great Staff. Really happy with our lunch. I had the rissotto although a bit strong the rice was cooked perfectly. My other half had the couscous salad which was big and was very tasty. All in all it added to our experience being up in the lakes.

Lovely inviting decor, the menu looks amazing and tastes even better, and the staff are attentive, friendly and massively helpful. We will be back, as the food is some of the best I have ever tasted - bar none!

Always a delicious meal at Sheila's Cottage. One of the nicest in Ambleside. Staff very friendly and polite with a lovely relaxing atmosphere.

Stopped in here for a late lunch after walking up Wansfell pike. I had the soup of the day which was delicious. It was tasty and warm -just what I needed. Others had sandwiches which were also very good. There was a good selection of tea, and it was warm inside. Toilets are up stairs, not sure if there's an accessible one on the ground floor.
