I believe Tonbridge Audi has improved significantly over the last year. I have taken my car there 3 times in the last 12 months service, MOT and roof malfunction and each time the service has improved. Mostly in terms of differenr departments communicating with one another! The last occasion, this week, was unexpected and yet the car was booked in the next day and the roof re-set within hours. I was even given a lift to and from the station so that I could continue with my plans while Tonbridge Audi fixed the car. I'm a fan!
This dealer is frankly useless. Being my nearest dealer, I have taken my new car there about 5 times in the last year. On each occasion, the service I have received has been terrible. Gilded by glitzy showroom, free coffee and "booking in" as if you were flying on an airline they fail at the really important things - like correctly diagnosing issues with the car or having the right parts in stock. A quick time-line as evidence that I'm not just mouthing off after a single incident: 1 The steering pulled to the left. I took it in. They changed the tyre pressures ie blamed me. It still pulled to the left 2 I took the car back telling them it pulled to the left. They told me one of their SENIOR ENGINEERS had driven it and didn't believe me. Nothing. 3 I returned - telling them it REALLY pulled to the left. They got one of their "SENIOR ENGINEERS" to come with me in the car look at it. Oh, yes, it does pull to the left. They did a full wheel alignment which I had asked them to do 10,000 miles previously. This is apparently not on Warranty - so I paid them several hundred pounds for the privilege I resent that, I can tell you. 4 It STILL pulls to the left although, to be clear, a lot less than it did. I take it back. They blame the tyres again. They suggest I get new ones. 5 The engine warning light comes on. Audi Assist come and visit me at home - brilliant service, lovely man, totally competent. He diagnoses a common fault that needs fixing some linkage arm has warn down. They email Tonbridge Audi pictures and the diagnosis and put it onto their ELSA system. 6 Tonbridge audi ring me to tell me their computer systems are down and they can't book me in. They will call me in a few day when it's back up and running. 7 Nothing happens for a few weeks. They have forgotten me, clearly. No worries, computer failure is perhaps not their fault although I have my doubts. 8 I ring them. Can you fix my engine warning light? Yes. I book it in. 9 They tell me they have diagnosed the problem already done by Audi Assist. Sadly, they can't fix the engine warning lights because they need to order parts which they could have done if they'd only looked at the ELSA system. 10 I ring them to re-book. Now they want to put it in for a service rather than a repair. Apparently they don't have any record of the recent visit or recent work "I'm working blind here", says poor Laura. Really. I think it's more serious than that. 11 I give up and book with Portsmouth Audi - who assure me they will order the parts BEFORE taking the car in for repair - and who can already see the Audi assist notes while I talk to them on the phone. Competent? We shall see. Key message: avoid any contact with Tonbridge Audi if you want to keep you sanity - even if it means travelling for four hours to a better dealer.

Not only was this a great deal, but the whole buying process was simple and clear. This was service as it should be. Highly recommended!
