Rooms were extremely dated but hence the price I guess. Bar/restaurant extremely good and good value for money. I've read a review where they say it's noisy but we did not find this at all and we were facing the runway as we requested this. Also says its a misleading distance to the airport well it states it is 3.9 miles from the airport so if this person had done their homework they would have know this. Yes the hotel is very outdated but for the money in this area it is value for money and the beds were super comfy.
we spent only one night in this hotel, on the way from Spain to use. were pleasantly surprised. usually you don't ask for too much from the airport hotels, but this one is heads and shoulders over what I've seen before. staff is kind, extremely helpful and nice. everybody is ready to help and accommodate you in the best possible way. we arrived around 1 a.m. and the check-in was a breeze. the room was very comfortable and the bed was amazing. thank you very much, guys. oh, and getting to the airport terminal was very easy and fast with POD. just a few minutes and you are there.
Our room was big enough to house myself wife and 10 year old. Bathroom was good and functional. The hotel is a stones throw from the pod that takes you to the terminal which was awesome. Dinning was good. Food was excellent. Staff all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was star of the show.
The hotel was pretty average overall. The room we got The most basic was small but big enough for my Wife and I without feeling like we were cramped. The beds were relatively nice, nothing super not worthy. The Staff were super kind and helpful and made sure to help us out and give us all the information we needed. Noteworthy details: The Staff at this Hotel told us about London’s travel pods. They’re SUPER cool. But also relatively cheap. The pods lead close to the hotel near Terminal 5, but I recall it being slightly difficult to find. Once at the hotel, ask them about buying tickets to the pods for your trip back to the airport and they will give you an access code as well as point you in the right direction. The back door of the hotel They will point it out if you ask has a super well marked path to the airport.
The pictures of the deluxe twin room on the hotel website are completely misleading!! In reality, the room is very cramped and the 'twin' beds are actually together because there is not much room to put them apart! Deluxe is not the word I would use to describe this room!!! We were offered free breakfast when I raised the issue, but due to our flight time, we couldn't have breakfast at the hotel. So instead we were offered a refund on the pod travel to the airport. It's been nearly 2 weeks and I am still waiting for my refund - There is no reply from the customer services email and trying to reach anyone at the hotel by phone is almost impossible! Extremely bad customer service experience.
DO NOT BOOK! DO NOT BOOK! DO NOT BOOK! If any other review gives this place more than 1 star they clearly are lying and have not stayed at this hotel. To start the room is very outdated and the carpets in the rooms stink. There were also visible carpet stains from who knows what. Second, don’t expect to get a good nights sleep at the hotel. The windows once again very outdated did absolutely nothing as we heard every single plane land loud and clear. It made it impossible to get any sleep. Other things wrong with our stay, the water pressure was terrible, there is no shuttle to the airport, and it overall is not very clean. Another thing you should know, they name their hotel after “London Heathrow airport” but they are located 2 miles away from the actual airport. So expect to take a 35$ taxi trip or wait to catch the bus. The name is very deceptive because when booking o thought they were actually located at the airport which I booked in order to save us time with travel. Not worth it, you are better off paying double or triple your stay ANYWHERE ELSE. Trust me. And it’s actually more convenient to use the underground train system to get to the airport from London. I hope this helps any future travelers out as the only reason I believe they are still in business is the deception of people thinking they are located on the airport premises to save time for travel.
Not impressed with desk personnel. Not helpful about gate fees especially when someone else opened door for you at gate, they still want to charge you 8 euros for use of the gate! Place interior felt like walking in a cruise ship, long, long hallways. Restaurant personnel could be more friendly.
Easily found with the satnav. GOOD FOR PLANE WATCHING!! The car park costs £15 per day. The rooms are basic but adequate. The bathroom needs updating a bit as the fixtures and fitting were a bit temperamental. The room has tea and coffee facilities. There's a restaurant within the hotel that opens at 5pm. There's also a bar open earlier, which has indoor seating, and an outdoor terrace. From the terrace you have an excellent view of one of the runways. I would strongly suggest bringing earplugs, head phones or a large pillow. The windows are not soundproof and it's extremely difficult to sleep with planes flying close to your window late into the night. 10 minute journey by car to terminal 5, or you can use the little pod !!
We fortunately only had a 1 night stay in this hotel. Firstly, The reception staff were incredibly unhelpful to us and rude. Secondly, the hotel is in serious need of a deep clean if not a total revamp. Thirdly, we were given a family room and it was a double bed with a 6 inches of space between it and a single bed. It is however in a good location as there is a McDonald’s right opposite it which is great because with the state of the room I can’t imagine the food was edible! Absolutely wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone at all. Noteworthy details: Two bus stops and a McDonald’s beside it. Huge plus
This hotel is not for a quick transfer stay or night before you fly stay. The bedrooms could do with being updated and the staff were welcoming but rushed. The food was really good in the Aviator refurbished restaurant.
