The best location with easy connections to London City. Just a 5 minutes walk from the arrivals hall if you are arriving and departing from T5 terminal. Staff were very courteous and helpful at all times. Breakfast spread was excellent. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. However the carpet and bathroom fittings were dated and faucets were difficult to operate. The rainfall shower head holes needed to be cleaned from mineral build up. The hotel is ready for a renovation. Restaurant service was good but the vegetarian food selection was very poor. Hopefully the hotel will include more vegetarian items on the menu going forward. Rooms: Rooms were spacious and comfortable. However the carpet and bathroom fittings appears to be dated and is ready for a renovation. Walkability: Easy and covered access from T5 terminal. Love the location.
My boyfriend and I only spent the evening there but it was great! When greeted on reception the guy that welcomed us knew we didn't have much time before our spa booking so was very quick at checking us in. The service at the spa was amazing! My first time getting a massage and the ladies were a great laugh and made me feel so comfortable. They didn't rush us either which was nice. We used the bar for a drink and ate dinner at the hotel. The man doing the eggs at breakfast was hilarious! Telling each person to 'ENJOY' as he passed over their choice of eggs. The lady in the American sweet shop was also lovely! We had a great chat with her also : Would definitely stay again and for longer! Noteworthy details: Great service at the Spa. But all round great service from everyone we came in contact with
Undoubtedly perfectly located for the airport. But where we had issues was with the service. Of all our interactions, one was exceptionally welcoming and friendly, but unfortunately, the rest seemed ill trained, and some even resentful. We had a luxury room with club access. We were allocated a room right next to the left where people traveling in the lifts could look straight into our room. The room itself was nice, not particularly great and not bad. It was spacious with a beautiful bathroom. But the room itself looked like it was getting on a little. It was only one outlet in the whole room that we could use and it was nowhere near the bed, the club lounge was really nice and had Generous snacks, Although not many vegetarian options for the evening tapas. We had dinner and breakfast at Vivre Where we found staff either unfriendly or ill trained. The gentleman received us at the hotel was obnoxious and rude. The reception area was beautiful and the stroll to the airport was short and convenient. Definitely not 5 star
Location is the biggest highlight of the hotel... BUT what a major highlight it is. No shuttle, no buses just a nice inside walk to BA check in. Flying out very early on BA made this the perfect choice. Friendly staff added to the experience. Poor well well warn beds lowered the experience and made the sleep less restful than hoped. Will stay here again, but will check the beds before moving in. Walkability: Directly connected to Terminal 5 making it very walkable
I arrived at the hotel exhausted from an extensive cruise, long day, and flight in from Athens. I was quickly greeted, given an upgrade, and was pleasantly pleased with the size of the room and the amenities provided. The next morning we enjoyed an amazing breakfast included with the room that we booked. This was my first stay at a Sofitel property recommended by a friend and it won't be my last!!!
We have stayed here on several occasions and it never disappoints. We up graded the room as we often do, which increased our comfort and then had a lovely meal in the restaurant. To be able to take such a short walk into departures is a great advantage. Rooms: Very clean, very comfortable.
We stayed a night on our recent trip to the UK. Pros: great bed and a comfortable room overall. Proximity to Heathrow is the main point you're RIGHT THERE!. Cons: the restaurant and bar were not that great. Totally sufficient, food wise, but the quality was lacking. A notch or two below what you'd get in the airport itself. At the bar, they were out of most of the beers on the menu. Was I satisfied? Yes, wanted a fairly comfortable stay near the airport. Did I enjoy the stay? Other than the great ! bed...not really. Was I disappointed? No...it's an airport hotel. Would I stay there again? For sure, yes.
We stayed for one night as it has a 10 minute internal walk directly to the airport departures. The room was clean, modern, with a variety of lighting including reading lights. The shower was good and the bed very comfy. Good aircon for sleeping. We ate at Vivre, one of 3 choices. Although long and large the lighting was good, in particular the fairy lights hanging down all along the ceiling. The wines by the glass are good and varied. The menu includes delicious plant based burger. Beautifully cooked, meaty taste and delicious chips. Other options were curry recommended, pizza and French dishes. Service was attentive and friendly. Cost was £50 a head with a glass of wine each. Thoroughly recommend. Rooms: Modern quiet comfy Food & drinks: Vivre restaurant is excellent
We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and check in. We were very impressed with the upgrade and very impressed with the beautiful room and the amazing bathroom! Unfortunately there was an issue with our lights and they kept turning on when we were in bed and my daughter was asleep. I had limited sleep and in the end had to remove the card from the control panel to stop any lights coming on and avoid waking my daughter up. This made for a warm room made worse by my hot flushes. That aside I would love to stay again and would highly recommend!
Person at front desk is super helpful and organised a wheel chair for us because the airport assistance doesn't start until 6 although flights start earlier. Room looks and feels lovely but not practical. Only 1 cable charging point in a twin room and it's not by the beds. Sockets by the bed not UK standard, all round pins.Rooms: 3/5
