Stayed here for 2 nights & loved every minute. Amazing location on Buckingham Palace road, to the rear of the Kings residence. We were treated like royalty from the minute we arrived. Doormen, check-in staff, Concierge, waiters & bar staff were so friendly & always had time chat & couldn't do enough for us. Hotel oozed class & everything was in tip top condition. The carpets, furniture & furnishings were unblemished & the bedding, pillow cases & bathrobes all had the Rubens logo in gold embroidery. We didn't eat here but did have drinks in the bar which was unfortunately very busy & loud. Wonderful experience though. Definitely would have a return visit. In my opinion it beats The Waldorf, The Strand Palace & The Shard based on our experience.
Hospitality at its finest. The stay was amazing in every way possible. The staff was top notch. The room was incredibly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. I felt like a long lost relative being welcomed home. The staff were so nice and friendly. They called cabs and helped with our luggage and even found me a power converter so i could use my hair tools. great location within walking distance of many great London sights.
My daughter and I had the best time at The Rubens celebrating her 8th birthday. From the welcoming and thoughtful staff, to the quality of food and service... we will definitely be coming again! A wonderful, friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so special and for the little treats and messages you left for her in our room. The pastry experience with the chef was amazing too. Within a short walk to Victoria station, Apollo Victoria Theatre, bus stops and Buckingham Palace. Rooms: Clean and comfortable
My recent stay at The Reubens at the palace was exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm and genuine hospitality. The staff here felt like a family creating a warm and welcoming environment. This was my first experience in a luxury hotel which itself was immaculate and the rooms were beautifully designed and had some wonderful historic features. The culinary experience was equally impressive. The breakfast was delicious especially the hash brown and the homemade smoothies. The evening cocktails were also a highlight and it was a pleasure to experience a talented singer performing in the bar. I can honestly say that this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I can't wait for my next visit.
My mother in law was visiting from Cape Town and I took her for Sunday Service at the Guards Chapel before coming to Ruben’s for coffee and a nibble. I’ve always loved this hotel. I lived and worked at Buckingham Palace for many years so Ruben’s was on my doorstep. The bar is so warming and welcoming with exquisite fabrics and furnishings. My Mother-in-law loved everything about the experience. Thank you so much for making her day so memorable.
Absolutely loved Rubens at Palace. Close to Buckingham Palace, the Mews etc, great dining room with sensational food. Breakfast was fabulous. The only downside was the size of the room. Very small but very clean and old world. I would stay here again when visiting from Australia in a heartbeat. Staff were sensational. Safety: Felt very safe. Walkability: Can walk everywhere. Food & drinks: Bar is lovely and dining room beautiful. Food perfect.
One of the most pleasant stays of my life. Unbelievably friendly staff, room service was delicious, proximity to everything was great. I would love to stay here again. The gentleman who works there that is a Chelsea fan, he was amazing. I felt like the staff cared about my wife and I. We stayed for 8 or 9 days and wish we could’ve stayed longer. Highly recommend staying here, Victoria is a great little neighborhood. Loved it, 1000/10.
We loved our stay and afternoon tea at The Reubens at the Palace. We arrived late as our train was delayed and the hotel was very accommodating and moved our afternoon tea slot to be a bit later. A lovely doorman greeted as we pulled up in our taxi and helped us in with our bags. We had our small dog with us and everyone was lovely and friendly towards him. This hotel is the most dog friendly hotel ive ever stayed in. He was allowed in the dining room with us where we had afternoon tea. Also in the dining room where we had lunch and breakfast. Leo was very lovely towards us and didn't make us feel awkward with having the dog with us . He sat us out of the way when I asked in case other people didn't want a dog near them. But he made us feel so welcoming and comfortable. All the staff was lovely from reception to the dining staff. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again. And if you are looking for a dog friendly hotel this is the one to stay in. Great location too.
Wonderful but a bit dated royal hotel. Kind of set in the 1930s but lovely rooms and staff were amazingly helpful. Particularly doormen Raj and Pascal. Food excellent as was room. Recommend location for central London.Rooms: 4/5
The service at the Rubens is very good! They truly go out of their way to try and help you. During my visit I had nothing but good things to say about the staff however you can tell they are definitely going through a change in staff/service because there were a few hiccups that we experienced and that I witnessed others have. Let me be clear though the main front guest staff were all fantastic. Overworked and understaffed but fantastic. I hope management reads this because they need to make sure to provide more support to their team. Multiple guest around me witnessed how overworked and overwhelmed the staff were. Now the rooms need a lot of love. They are very dated and not in a good way. The hotel needs renovations. A good place may be to start with the mattress it was definitely not good enough for a 5 star hotel. This could truly be a 5 star hotel with renovations to the room and if they continue to tighten up the overall service of all their staff but for now I would consider looking elsewhere if looking for the 5- star experience.
