I went to the hotel to enjoy the afternoon tea. There were some sandwiches, scones and lemon cake. The red velvet cake was not so good. It was better if the tea was served in a dining room, not in the bar. In general the staff was very polite and the food was good. Food & drinks: I went to enjoy the afternoon tea.
Great hotel with an excellent, helpful staff! Reasonably priced for a major city as well. The staff here are way above your average hotel. Very nice and will go out of their way to help you with luggage. They also helped arrange transportation for us to and from the airport. We stayed for 2 nights and it was a great stay. We were in a recently upgraded wing of the hotel. It was very nice, clean and modern. The beds were very comfortable. It was the best night's sleep I had during my 10 day vacation in Europe. The only thing I did not like about the room was the shower. It was an open concept shower without a shower door. It was too open though and lots of water leaked out on the floor. The breakfast was very good. It was buffet style with lots of options. Great coffee and tea. The location is unbeatable. Located in Westminster, in a relatively quiet area across from a park. It is walking distance to lots of restaurants, shops and also the big tourist attractions - Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. Highly recommend!
We just got back from staying at The Wellington. There were pros and cons to the hotel though, and the cons were kinda big considering the price we paid for the rooms. Pros: Service was great, staff was very friendly, it was very clean, and the neighbourhood it's in is very beautiful. The shower had great temperature and water pressure, which was nice. Cons: 1. If you're booking an Executive King room, be aware that you might not get the room that's pictured on their website. It's deceiving, only a couple rooms are that size with a "king" bed which was 2 singles pushed together to make 1 bed. We originally were put in a room that was very small but was still considered by them to be the same type and rate of the room smaller bed, 1 chair, not a lot of space in the room. It's deceiving if you're booking based on the photos on the website. They did change us into a bigger room when we emailed the reservation team with our concerns so the service was great but just be wary of that. 2. The 2 beds that we tried here were VERY hard. Like, sleeping on a rock slab sort of hard. The towels are rough and scratchy and the pillows are also pretty bad. We also asked for an extra blanket and were given basically a throw blanket in a duvet cover that didn't close? That was weird. 3. The rooms are dated. The furniture had a lot of signs of wear and tear and all the curtains were shredded on one side in our original room. 4. Don't bother with the hotel breakfast, the food was awful, it's VERY expensive, and the selection was very limited. 5. We had a couple bags of recycling near the door for the house keeping team to take away but when they came in to clean our room, those bags were left there. 6. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to get to the 2 closest subway lines. It's a good location for walking around but it's not super close to transportation to other areas of the city. It is only about a 15-20 minute walk to Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace though which was nice.
We have had a 5 star experience here! The bed, pillows and shower were luxurious, the level of service from the concierges was unexpected and top notch. The location opposite the park was excellent, it was quiet and it was easy to walk to the National Gallery, Harrods, and Westminster Cathedral to enjoy a service. We will be back! Highly recommended.
Absolutely not recommendable. Many dissatisfied guests report the same issues. We are moving out after 1 night instead of 4 and no one is willing to guarantee us the reimbursement for the time we won't spend here. On weekends, no management is available to speak to. Rooms are too small for allegedly "superior" standard, one whole wing is under construction while hotel business is continued. Rooms above the kitchen have a terribly intense cooking smell all day long, starting with scrambled eggs, then Basmati rice, then grilled steaks. Your room smells as if the barbecue is taking place directly in it. Nothing can be done about it. Some staff speaks poor English, which gets poorer when crisis management is required. We are here to work and have lost one whole day now.
I recently stayed for two nights at this hotel, but unfortunately, it was far from the experience one would expect from a four-star establishment. The air conditioning in my room was not functioning, and despite my initial reluctance to disturb the front desk, the temperature in the room had dropped to 18°C, leaving me quite uncomfortable. My first call for assistance around 11 p.m. resulted in a promise to address the issue, yet no action was taken. By midnight, I called again, only to be told they needed to consult with a manager and would get back to me, but I received no follow-up. When I called a third time at approximately 12:20 a.m., they eventually brought up a portable radiator, which took an exceptionally long time to warm the room. Unfortunately, I developed a cold the following day. Overall, the level of service did not meet the standards expected from a four-star hotel and was certainly not worth the price. In future, I would hesitate to book a single room here again. Rooms: I can hear water running down the pipes every time someone upstairs or next door flushes their toilet. I wouldn’t have expected to raise such an issue at a four-star hotel, but it appears that some improvements could be made to enhance the overall experience, especially given the price point.
The air conditioning was not working properly the last two days we were there. We were in the apartment in the ground level. I couldn’t figure out what was the issue. Other than that the hotel service is very good. Super clean. It is well located and close to many landmarks and underground trains. Love it. Rooms: Room are comfortable and clean. Nearby activities: We had plenty of places close by: Westminster abby, parliament square, Buckingham Palace, and many other landmarks. Safety: I felt safe at all times . Great neighborhood Walkability: Close to a lot of the touristic places. Beautiful area to walk around.
Great little hotel. Very quiet, great service and cleanliness. While it did have AC it wasn't very cold but the weather wasn't too hot. The room is well equipped with power sockets, safe, fridge, and other accessories. Bathroom and shower are large and very clean. The location is outstanding. Only 10 mins. walk from Victoria station with many stores within walking distance. Highly recommended for anyone visiting London. Rooms: We booked an Executive Twin. While the room sized was decent compared to most London hotels, there's no space between the two beds. The beds were very comfortable though. Nearby activities: Besides the nearby Cardinal Place which has department stores, grocery shops, pharmacies, and many restaurants and coffee shops there's also a quaint little independent movie theater which we enjoyed Curzon Cinemas - Victoria. Walkability: 10 min. walk from Victoria station and Cardinal Place restaurants & shopping center.
We stayed at The Wellington Hotel as we were doing wine tasting with The Wine Cottage which was very good. Hotel is lovely in a great location but we definitely felt as though we had been shoved out of the way. Our room was on the 5th floor, but to get there we had to go down a corridor, down stairs, along a corridor, up stairs, along a corridor, down stairs, up a lift that only went to the 4th floor, up more stairs to get to the 5th floor and then alone a variety of corridors. A mission to get to and from your room, especially for someone with arthritis and worse with a suitcase. A good 5-10 minutes away from reception. The room itself was small and very hot and the bathroom was very musty/mouldy due to a lack of ventilation. No safe. No fridge. Cannot turn AC off, only adjust temperature. Did not use any facilities so cannot comment on food or drink etc. Huge £150 reserve on card too despite not using any facilities or having any charges. Would not stay again, nicer hotels in the area. Walkability: Near Victoria and many other attractions
The location of this hotel is not very adjacent to the hot spots but is located in the cozy and quiet place where the next to the greeny pitch is. All staff are professional and friendly to visitors. I had requested to change the room for more space, and they quickly responded and shifted with proper room. Thanks for overall support during my stay, and I am willing to recommend this hotel all visitors to Lomdon.
