Hospitality at its finest. The stay was amazing in every way possible. The staff was top notch. The room was incredibly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. I felt like a long lost relative being welcomed home. The staff were so nice and friendly. They called cabs and helped with our luggage and even found me a power converter so i could use my hair tools. great location within walking distance of many great London sights.
One of the most pleasant stays of my life. Unbelievably friendly staff, room service was delicious, proximity to everything was great. I would love to stay here again. The gentleman who works there that is a Chelsea fan, he was amazing. I felt like the staff cared about my wife and I. We stayed for 8 or 9 days and wish we could’ve stayed longer. Highly recommend staying here, Victoria is a great little neighborhood. Loved it, 1000/10.
The service at the Rubens is very good! They truly go out of their way to try and help you. During my visit I had nothing but good things to say about the staff however you can tell they are definitely going through a change in staff/service because there were a few hiccups that we experienced and that I witnessed others have. Let me be clear though the main front guest staff were all fantastic. Overworked and understaffed but fantastic. I hope management reads this because they need to make sure to provide more support to their team. Multiple guest around me witnessed how overworked and overwhelmed the staff were. Now the rooms need a lot of love. They are very dated and not in a good way. The hotel needs renovations. A good place may be to start with the mattress it was definitely not good enough for a 5 star hotel. This could truly be a 5 star hotel with renovations to the room and if they continue to tighten up the overall service of all their staff but for now I would consider looking elsewhere if looking for the 5- star experience.
A true classic that has continued to remain upscale, hospitable and exquisite. The staff at this hotel is amongst some of the finest, most attentive and truly friendly. Raj who works the door was a true gentleman and a stand out person from our arrival through departure. Leo who works in the main restaurant went above and beyond for us. Anyone would be lucky to stay at this property.
My recent stay at The Reubens at the palace was exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm and genuine hospitality. The staff here felt like a family creating a warm and welcoming environment. This was my first experience in a luxury hotel which itself was immaculate and the rooms were beautifully designed and had some wonderful historic features. The culinary experience was equally impressive. The breakfast was delicious especially the hash brown and the homemade smoothies. The evening cocktails were also a highlight and it was a pleasure to experience a talented singer performing in the bar. I can honestly say that this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I can't wait for my next visit.
September 2024: Enjoyed an afternoon tea meal at the Rubens. There was a lot of food on the standard offering. The sandwiches were all tasty. I thought the smoked salmon, chicken, and roast beef were the best. The cucumber and cheese sandwiches were just okay. Only had enough room for one scone and tried the plain scone with clotted cream. Was excellent. Cakes were all great . My favorite was the Crown cake which was vanilla sponge with blackberry confit and white chocolate mousse. Service was friendly and attentive. We had an excellent time at an elegant restaurant.
The service is beyond compare!!!! Thank you Ellie and the rest of the staff for such an amazing experience. Loved afternoon tea :. The restaurants are fabulous. Elevator is scary small. Location is ideal - can walk to so many wonderful locations. Room was beautiful. Cannot wait to stay again.Rooms: 5/5
My wife and I have stayed here twice on our wedding anniversary and visited four times for afternoon tea. The food is amazing, the room and facilities are fantastic and the staff are the best that you can hope for. That’s why we keep going back and no doubt we’ll be visiting again in 2025 Rooms: 5/5
Went for Afternoon tea on Tuesday as a birthday treat. It was delightful, all the staff were superb, friendly but professional. The Afternoon tea itself was delicious, the lemon curd was out of this world. A lovely young man unfortunately didn't get his name.suggested different teas to try. I would certainly recommend anyone to visit and hopefully will visit again myself when in London again. Food & drinks: The afternoon tea was absolutely amazing
Update 09/14/2024 I received the mail from Mr. Charlie Banks, the Room division manager of the hotel which sincerely appreciate it my criticism and addressed immediately with evidence of proof. With that, I believe the continuation of improvement is in the mind of the upper management that will make this hotel continue to be the landmark hotel in London. ………………………………………. One star for the great location and the front desk staffs was able to upgraded us from room 140 to 425. The front desk staff name Joe and Ellie was worth of mentioning! Above is only the good thing about this so call 5 stars hotel! We totally understand this hotel is over 100 years old and that is what we want to experience a little bit of the Royal British experience! The small room, small elevator is understandable! But not replacing the facial towels happened once in both rooms and not cleaning the soap dishes throughout our 6 nights of stay is not excusable! So I’m questioning their housekeeping SOP and training systems, because this isn’t an isolated incident to a single housekeeping employee, it is a system wide issue! I don’t believe the 5 stars hotel’s housekeeping SOP not including the daily soap dish cleaning and replacing a new soap as needed! A bit of disappointment, is the best way to describe the experience we had with this hotel! Nearby activities: Lots seem to do and to see near the hotel Walkability: Walkable to Westminster Abbey, to Big Ban to Buckingham Palace!
