Beautiful place, friendly staff. The decor is amazing! They forgot one of our food orders. Didn't get any money off at the end, or any offer of a free drink/dessert, considering the long wait for the other main. To be honest, what would have made a lot of difference to the experience would be if there had been anything said about the mistake at payment time. But nothing. For such an expensive place, I would have expected better remediation to be honest. If it was wetherspoons it would have been par for the course!
We had a delicious lunch here. I had sea bass with new potatoes and vegetables. All was cooked really well, it was buttery and yummy. Fish was crispy and not greasy. Potatoes: soft inside with slightly crispy skin and tasted great. Asparagus and broccoli well seasoned, not too crunchy, not soggy either, buttery yum. ..Looked great too. We were waiting a bit long for our desserts, so staff kindly offered us coffee. Desserts were really tasty as well. I had chocolate orange tart with vanilla ice cream. Perfection.
Super Super Pub and incredible best food! Very lovely restaurant. Love it. No other comments needed ;-Service: 5/5
Took a day trip to Eastbourne to walk Beachy Head, after a lovely walk I stopped in at The Pilot Inn for a refreshment. Perfectly located and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I was hoping to catch the Grand National and so needed a TV to watch, thankfully a member of staff kindly accommodated me in a busy time and took me to a seat at the bar next to the TV, my apologies I didn't get your name long blonde hair and welcoming smile. The drinks were very reasonably priced and served perfectly by the bar staff apologies I didn't get your name either . A great place, lovely staff and perfectly located. I would recommend to anyone and will certainly go back when I'm in the area again. Thank you Simon & Lisa, and the staff.
I've been here many times to have a drink, for lunch and for a nice evening meal. I've always found the staff friendly and attentive. It has a comfortable atmosphere and an interesting history. Highly recommended!!! Restaurant tables in the old & new recently built parts of the building and in the bar area. A nice beer garden with a seperated discretely located, heated smoking area. I do prefer to eat in the restaurant, as the bar can get a little busy at times, but it wouldn't put me off at all if that's all they had available. Waiting staff that I've had have all deserved their tips and will always check if you're OK, I've found. Lovely food, not a huge selection but regularly changing specials. Everything I've had so far has been really good. The Pork Belly is honestly one of the best I've ever had! I pretty much have it every time i go now. Rooms available if required and only a short distance to the South Downs Way if you can manage the walk up after your lunch.
Was a shame, meeting up with family, booked a table for 10 and they split us up! Meant a lot for us to be together as don't see these relatives often. They then said that they had already told us, which they hadn't. Service slow but waitress was attentive. Food & drinks: Food was good when it arrived
Great place. Friendly staff. Food ok to good but getting a bit pricey. Walkability: Easy walk from seafront
The staff were lovely and attentive, the atmosphere was great and it was just a nice place in general. Plus the food was pretty bloody good. Only downside id say is the beer selection was abit odd. other than that there’s nothing to complain about!Service: 5/5
I've never been served such scrooge like measures even the way they measure in tumblers as not to give you a drop over in all my life. One bar staff pleasant, but rest of them don't have any "feel" for custom rapport. Nice ambience in pub though.
Absolutely fantastic place! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the staff! The atmosphere is great, the garden is lovely and the bar staff amazing, the food looked absolutely amazing but there was unfortunately no more tables available for us......definitely next timeRooms: 5/5
