Cute and cosy b&b. Good breakfast. Wifi was very slow in the 3rd floor room. Better in common areas. Free parking on the street - challenging to find a spot during weekend. Pets are allowed - take care or avoid if allergic.Rooms: 4/5
Lovely B&B to arrive to. The Cherry Tree is on a quiet street with no noise or traffic, there's a garden in front which catches the sun where guests can enjoy a drink in sunshine. Colin I think welcomed us warmly and showed us around and to our room. We were visiting town for a special occasion so they'd put us in a larger room and set out a bottle of cava for us kindly! The room was quiet and spacious with a lovely bathroom. The room was in the basement so whilst light enough it did have a strong damp/mouldy smell which is uncomfortable during the night. Not clear if it was due to being at that level or the carpet itself. The location is a couple of minutes walk from the beach, the trail over Seven Sisters and has a beachfront restaurant nearby too. A little further into town, 10-15 minutes. Breakfast was lovely. I've not seen such an extensive selection in a B&B so the owners clearly put effort into providing this. The quality of the ingredients was good and it is a tasty, filling but not too greasy English breakfast. Overall a good place to stay. If I was staying longer I'd have asked to change rooms if possible and certainly stayed for more of those breakfasts!
Well its a nice victoriana house and done up in an interesting and quirky style. And the proprietors were friendly, welcoming and helpful. But sadly this can't make up for the fact that our room 8 and associated bathroom were very small and up four flights of stairs - not what you need after a days walking. It was also baking hot and hard to cool. Breakfasts are large but we found them a little overfacing.
Fantastic find! Owners are so helpful and friendly. We were taken to our gorgeous room which was fine for size, bathroom on the small side but worked well for us. We had the most delicious breakfast and even had a sausage cooked each day for our dog. When we returned to our room later that day a dog water bowl, food bowl and mat had been provided which was lovely touch. The communal lounge was decorated beautifully and is a really nice area to relax and unwind in. The TV in the room had plenty of channels but the Olympics were on so we had to watch that each night. I would highly recommend staying here and will be back in the future.
The hotel is located in close proximity to beautiful Eastbourne Beach. The rooms are very clean and well maintained and very well furnished. A small garden area with a lovingly decorated cherry tree allows you to relax and feel happy. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is rich and excellent. An ideal accommodation for a relaxed holiday. Thank you for everything dear Mel and Colin.
Fantastic and personable welcome from the host. Beautifully and imaginatively decorated and newly refurbished rooms. Cosy common room with music, perfect to hang out after dinner. And our favourite: delicious and huge breakfast all made from scratch by the hosts. We had a great time and would definitely go back! :Rooms: 5/5
We stayed here in May 2022 for three nights and had a wonderful time. The owners, Mel and Collin do everything to make you feel welcome and have a good time. The breakfast is absolutely superb, the room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable. The Cherry Tree is in walking distance to the beautiful seafront 3mins and to the Pier about 10 mins and lies on a quiet road, only thing is there is only on street parking, but it’s free. Oh and they’re dog friendly. Overall we couldn’t give less than 5 stars, it was a great stay and we can clearly recommend it!
I visited The Cherry Tree with my mom last weekend. From the moment we walked in, you could feel the homely, inviting atmosphere. Melanie, the owner, was friendly and warm in talking to us. Firstly she adjusted our room since I made a wrong booking on the system. Then she gave us amazing tips on where to go and what to see in the area. The breakfast was incredibly delicious and my mom was even given a Polish version of the menu since she does not speak English. Rooms were really clean and beautifully arranged. I highly recommend and will definitely be back.
This is such a gem of a place. Really close to the front and the lawn tennis club and near local restaurants. We had a little walk to Tesco Express and found we were nearly back at the railway station. The hotel itself is lovely and such attention to detail. There is a really warm and welcoming lounge where guests can help themselves to tea and coffee and there are snacks with an honesty box. The rooms are beautifully decorated and colour co ordinated with quirky additions. We had Room 3 which had the lovely paisley wallpaper and fabulous cushions. The rooms are all decorated differently so it is a real treat for those interested in interiors. So I was already won over and then came the breakfast. There was a menu - photo attached. So fantastic. I managed to resist the waffle which looks so fantastic in other pictures. Went for the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and it was truly fantastic...Melanie gave us loads of local info and gossip...what a great lady! My only regret was that I hadn't booked for longer...such value for money after all... Don't ask me abut parking...I do public transport.... No-one should ever under estimate the work that goes into running a place like this to such a high standard...especially when they have had since a hard time having to close over 2 lockdowns...the running costs on a place like this must be astronomical.. hats off to small hoteliers!
A lovely welcome/ advice from the owners of this quirky gem of a guesthouse in a perfect location for eateries and theatres. Our room was clean , tidy and perfect for our needs. Added extras included use of a warm, inviting living area where you could purchase drinks and snacks at low prices. Breakfast had plenty of choice lots of it too! and was great for vegetarians with a slight twist on a theme. Many thanks.
