We recently stayed at The Kensington Hotel to celebrate our wedding, and it was absolutely perfect! However, what truly set our experience apart was the exceptional service from George, the bellman. From the moment we arrived, George went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. He handled all of our transportation needs, including booking a 5 a.m. departure to the airport, and gave us fantastic recommendations on where to go and what to eat in the area. On the morning of our departure, George even made us tea and mimosas—such a thoughtful touch! His positive attitude, incredible smile, and genuine care for guests made us feel right at home. George is the reason we will absolutely be coming back, and we can’t wait for our next stay! Thank you, George, and The Kensington team, for making our wedding celebration so memorable. Staying at the Kensington was a dream. From the moment you walk through the front door covered with flowers, you’re in a serene, beautiful oasis. The service was exceptional and the staff did everything to make our stay lovely. The breakfast in the restaurant each morning was delicious and a wonderful way to start the day. I also need to specifically call out Harvey, who stood out as the best associate on the team. He warmly greeted us each day and was attentive to our needs. It isn’t often someone goes out of their way to be thoughtful, but Harvey really demonstrated what exceptional service looks like. My husband and I can’t wait to come back to London and stay at the Kensington. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Had a disappointing afternoon tea here. Things were just wrong right at the beginning. We were told our table was not ready so we were brought to the bar area. 15 mins on we checked and they said it’s still getting prepared. 30 mins on we asked again and said they’ll get it ready in a few mins and then only offered us some drinks, over half an hour waiting! Ok they gave us complimentary cocktails as an apology but it’s the first time I’ve had to wait over half an hour for a table and this is a 5-star establishment. After we sat down we had to ask for a copy of the afternoon tea menu, tea selection was rather limited. We ordered tea that was best served with milk but no milk was available and we had to request. When food arrived the person who served us stumbled with describing the food items on our stand, making several mistakes along the way, even the guy who poured my tea was nervous pouring into my cup and I felt he might spill it any minute. Sandwiches were mediocre, scones overdone and desserts were nice enough. Also first time I had a 5* hotel afternoon tea without servers asking if we would like any extra servings. Didn’t even bother reminding them that we were there to celebrate a milestone birthday as clearly they were just struggling. I know I’m not paying Ritz prices but it’s just disappointing we were let down several times. The saving grace was the waitress who tried to give us our table half an hour waiting tried her best to make sure we were taken care of and got our apology complimentary cocktails before she finished her shift, and they didn’t try to rush us out since we started our tea nearly 45 mins after our booked time. It was such a shame as we had to push back subsequent activities in the day, which was disappointing for a relative who was visiting London and had limited time in the area.

My husband and I booked two evenings at The Kensington Hotel to round out our stay in the United Kingdom for our anniversary trip. We saved the best for last, and this stay did not disappoint. The guest service was second-to-none, and we loved being greeted by Thomas and Harvey each day after returning from our busy day of sightseeing. Thomas even gave us a short tour of the hotel and its history upon our check-in. The rooms are spacious, clean and well decorated. The restaurant and lounge were exceptional, and the restaurant even accommodated our request of a smaller, cream tea on the afternoon of our arrival. The Kensington Hotel is centrally-located and only a 5 minute walk from the tube station. Perfect for touring London. We certainly plan to be back! It was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had.
This is one of the BEST hotels I have ever stayed at. Everyone truly made it feel like home! The staff here made my London experience so special and catered to my every need! I will never stay anywhere else!Rooms: 5/5
