This place is wonderful. The room and the entire place is sparkling clean and tidy. My room was quiet and on the first floor. The breakfast was amazing, very complete. The safe deposit box in the room isn't included. They charge for it. I am used to not paying for it as in most places it's considered a room amenity. It would be like charging to use the toilet, in my book, or to use the iron or hair dryer. I thought that was a bit tacky as it's a classy place. There is a small step to get into the bathroom, which I thought was a bit dangerous especially if you're going to the toilet in the middle of the night and you're half asleep. I tripped a couple of times. The shower was way too narrow. It is really difficult to move around without hitting the wall or the shower door. Whomever they hired to design the bathroom should go back to school. Also the sink is surrounded be granite counter and tile under it, a plumber's nightmare. I was pleased to see the room had air conditioner. However, there were no biscuits or chocolates included, which I thought would have been a nice touch. Aster House is run like a tight ship. You will see what I mean when you're there. Nevertheless, the staff did go out of their way to accommodate me. Anyhow, it's just in the heart of Kensington and a stone's throw away from South Kensington Underground Overall it's a lovely, cozy boutique or bed and breakfast type hotel on a quiet street and the bed was very comfortable. I am giving it five stars because overall my stay was pleasant. I just wish the staff would make an effort to be a bit more personable, however. Rooms: Clean, comfortable quiet. Safety: Pretty safe except I wouldn't recommend taking the Underground at night, but that's anywhere in London. Walkability: Within walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops and the South Kensington Underground.
We loved our days there. The rooms were quite, very close to the underground, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Victoria and Albert Museum as well as Harrods. Leonie was so friendly and also answering our questions. We had to separate beds and enough soace i the room. Thanks for the wonderful week.
This is a lovely, charming, clean B&B with friendly hosts. Rooms are comfortable and nicely furnished. The bed was very comfortable. Wifi is free. A nice breakfast is included in the price. It's a 3 minute walk to the Tube. Surrounding streets are full of shops and restaurants. It's a short walk to several free museums, Hyde Park, and Kensington Palace. It was easy to take the Tube here from the airport, and easy to take the tube to other places of interest. If you appreciate the warmth of staying in a small, quiet, beautiful B&B over a larger hotel this is an excellent choice. Thank you Leonie and team!
Would definitely recommend for a stay in London! Everything is incredibly accessible via the nearby stop on the Piccadilly Line, but South Kensington gives a break from the hustle of downtown. Leonie was very kind and accommodating; she's wonderful. The rooms were very clean, and breakfast included a good spread with many options: coffee or tea, beans, eggs, pastries, yogurt, meat, cheese, and other goodies. Walkability: Close to South Kensington stop on Piccadilly Line; makes airport access simple.
There cannot be a better place to stay in the whole of London. At any price. Comfortable room/bed. Very good breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome. Very clean. I lost my phone case in the night. Pulled out the beds/cabinets to find it in the morning. Not a speck of dust! Very reassuring.Rooms: 5/5
Clean, nice, pretty well located. It’s a Bed & breakfast, not a hotel. Big Semi detached house in south Kensington with lots of stairs, so if you overweight or have bed leg, I suggested to avoid this place. Bed are comfy, pretty stuff and well amenities. No drinking water provided so make sure you buy one Tesco is just a Roth’s street shower temperature is not consistent and temperamental. Breakfast is ok, very basic and no coffee machine. Pay 375 for 1 double bed and 1 single bed, too expensive for what I get could’ve stay at Ampersand hotel with 325£ Leonnie is nice and everything but she has that old Chinese lady vibe, if you know what I meant. Anyway I hope Aster house best of luck and I hope your business successful.
Our trip to London was made so much better by Leonie and the beautiful Aster House. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast each morning which started our day off perfectly. We packed our days with tours and walking and it was so wonderful to think of returning to our beautiful room to recharge. Aster House is very close to the South Kensington tube station but at night we enjoyed quiet slumber. Leonie was helpful in every way and made us feel at home. We highly recommend. The Coles
I would recommend Aster House very much. The room was clean and decorations quaint. The staff was friendly, warm and helpful. The location is perfect, quiet and residential but only blocks from the South Kensington metro station and main street for shopping, eating. A true hidden gem, I will return next time I’m in London.Rooms: 5/5
I stayed at Aster House for 3 nights and it was wonderful. Leoni was very welcoming and my room was very cozy and nice with the balcony. The room and bathroom were super clean and the bed was very comfy. I enjoyed breakfast in the L’Orangerie. It was my first time visiting London, and Aster House was certainly a great way to start. Thank you so much!
A special thank you to Leonie and Simon from Ted and Melinda. I can't say enough about Aster House. The location is great; secluded, but a short 5 minute walk to the underground. The accommodations are clean and very nice. The staff is attentive to all your needs. To top it off the breakfast is fresh with a variety of fruits, cheese, meats, beans, pastries, breads, eggs, juice, tea, coffee and more. We plan to return to London and will stay at Aster House! Cheers!
