When we arrived to check in the hotel was closed. Looked round the back, room full of upside down furniture, looked like it was closed down. No answer at door and message code did not work. Could not contact booking. Com. No answer. A lot of other people turned up and couldn't get in either. A disgrace. We had to drive home same night after concert. They shouldn't advertise hotel if it's closed.
Arrived at this 'hotel,' to book in before enjoying the Take That concert. The place was locked and derelict looking, I waited until the 3pm book in time and still nobody turned up! Many more people arrived who were hoping to stay there, but all were left with nowhere to stay as proper hotels were busy because of the influx of visitors to the city due to the concert. Is this a SCAM!????? Be very wary and don't book it unless you want your weekend ruined as mine was
If there were a rating of no stars I would give this hotel no stars. There were no staff there when we arrived, we had travelled to stay there and could not. There were 4 cars worth of people waiting in the car park to check in, but they couldn't either, goodness knows where the people that turned up in the taxis stayed. It was closed and should not be advertised as a running concern. Noteworthy details: This hotel looked derelict when we looked through the windows. There was no one there, it was deserted
The only great thing about this place was Karena Hadgnska. She went out of her way to give us a lift to the cruise ship terminal when our taxi didn't show up. Electricity in the entrance hallway at night was nonexistent so going into the place was a safety issue during our stay as we couldn't see where we were going and no one greeted us upon arrival since we had no data on our phone to check messages. So our first night was very stressful.
I don't recommend this place. Don't be fooled by the old reviews on this site, or the hotel web pages! It is advertised as a hotel, bar and a restaurant, but it is closer to a self service hostel without a reception. Unfortunately we stayed in this place a month ago and had a subpar experience. You check-in online via a form and get the keys from a lockbox. The place is rundown, there is no restaurant in the premises any more, no breakfast, any services, nor staff. Common areas had dirty footprints from some shady looking maintenance crew that was occupying most of the parking lot when we arrived. Most of the common areas I assume were lounge or restaurant previously were locked down. The room we stayed in reeked of strong cleaning chemicals and were bare. They advertise "Free private parking on-site", however, upon asking for a permit that was required by signs, they never brought one and instead said we would be allowed to park there. Next morning we received a £60 parking notice. When confronting the company via phone, they said "a manager" will take care of it, not to worry. After multiple days and calls later I never received a written confirmation the issue had been taken care of nor was their "manager" ever available to discuss the topic. After the appeals with the parking management company failed, I had to pay the notice myself.
Overall was fine, the bathroom was quite cold even with the towel rail on, the room didn't have hand towels available so I had to use the bath towels for simple things like handwashing, the toilet pan was always making a dripping noise, the panels of the shower were very aged. There isn't a TV available either. I believe they are just under new ownership so these may be temporary issues. Bar and Restaurant is not there from what I saw. Friendly staff. Noteworthy details: There is no reception
The hotel looks like it has been taken over by squatters!!!Rooms: 1/5
Booked by friends I was pleasantly surprised with this boutique style hotel. Great rooms, very friendly staff. We had extra guests to supper and we were all very impressed with the food and the service offered pre cruise. Luggage store. Car parking for the duration. The breakfast was so good we phoned from the ship and went back to the Blue Keys instead of a doing battle on the liner. I would recommend this as a very painless way to start a holiday.
Seems like a lovely place. They have a system to let you in after hours that works well, especially if you're stuck in traffic. The location is good, near the park. Free guest parking and excellent wifi. Breakfast excellent. Rooms are large. Could do with bigger duvets on the twin beds, as a guy I hate getting cold every time I move in the night. Not quite 5 stars but no negatives.
My wife and I held our wedding reception at the hotel on Friday and had the best day we could ever have imagined. A massive thank you to all of the staff involved but a special shout out to Maisie. From the minute I checked in the night before my big day I felt instantly at ease with my surroundings and was very well looked after. My room was spotless and very modern and had everything I could have needed inside. Having never previously stayed at the hotel before, I was very keen to make sure that I was able to decorate as I imagined and taste some food before all of my guests. Dinner was divine, breakfast was delicious and everything in between was superb. Thank you The Blue Keys! from Mrs & Mrs B
