Spent three night in the executive room, the room service was good with daily room by cleaning and change of towels. The gym and pool was clean and well taken care of. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast as there were varieties of options with very helpful staff. However, I particularly dislike the fact that the rooms were quite small as not very child friendly Rooms: Great for a couple, but the family room could be bigger Nearby activities: In the centre of the city with shops and eateries around Food & drinks: Good variety as per the breakfast
We used this hotel for a 1 night stay before embarking on a cruise from ocean terminal. Bit pricy for a fairly basic hotel, but it was convenient. Rooms clean, staff in bar/restaurant not particularly amiable but food good & reasonably priced.Rooms: 5/5
Good location used a few times. Great staff. Care the venue can be used for parties, we experienced a loud party, and breakfast was used by an international coach, who used up resources very early on.Rooms: 5/5
Excellent pre cruise stay . Staff really helpful, friendly and calm. You are given a telephone number to contact reception via WhatsApp if you require any help as there's no phone in the room. Worked well, though a bit of delay answering message. If not familiar with WhatsApp, don't know how you'd speak to reception. Bed comfy and slept well. Breakfast very good usual choices of hot and cold self serve but staff visible to ask for anything. Staff efficient and friendly. 10 minute walk to shopping mall with good outlets, games machines, John Lewis, Marks and Spencer plus Dunelm mill. Cases can be kept at reception after checkout 12 noon if not boarding ship until later in afternoon. Would definitely use again.
My first week here was definitely better than my second. Small pool, no air con in rooms and shower screen in second room leaked water all over the bathroom floor. Raised this with the maintenance team but was told not to shower “aggressively.” Good location. Close to McDonald’s, TGI Fridays, retail park and Southampton Central train station. Would recommend staying in a room facing the car park if you don’t like noise as on the other side of the hotel there’s a main road and a police station. Rooms: Clean and functional. Comfortable bed if you like a firmer mattress. Luckily I do. Food & drinks: Breakfast was good. Hot and cold food and drinks available. All well cooked and displayed. Didn’t like the yoghurt or fruit in pots though.
Great location near the train station. Close to the cruise harbor and ferries. Quiet, although the toilet flush was loud. Good breakfast and helpful staff! Overall an excellent experience. Noteworthy details: Hotel has a pool we enjoyed very much at the end of a long day. Not so big, but very pleasant. Great if you have kids too.
Great place for a short stay. Absolute bonus that this hotel has a gym and pool. Breakfast had a good selection of food.Rooms: 4/5
Room did not appear to be clean. No phone in room. Huge Lobby made you feel invisible. Too expensive for what is offered. No shred of luxury. Good location if you are going on a cruise.Rooms: 2/5
Very convenient to the train station. The rooms have seen better days and are very worn and stained. We've stayed here more than once, and on our last visit there was a wedding at the hotel blasting loud music, which made it impossible for our child to sleep. We were not warned nor offered a discount for the trouble. They said we could complain after 10pm, but children sleep far earlier than this. The hotel also has no air conditioning and the windows barely open, so the rooms were extremely stuffy. Resulted in a night of tears. We won't be going back here, as our experience has deteriorated with each visit. Walkability: It's walkable to the train station and near plenty of restaurants and other amenities.
Stayed for a weekend break FBB, rooms a bit tired but amazing service and great breakfast definitely family friendly Novotel Rooms: 5/5
