Room was perfect in a good location, with great service from the staff, I enjoyed the bar and the food. my only issue was the woeful fire emergency protocol, the alarm went off and then silenced after 30 seconds so we thought it was a test, turns out it was a real emergency with the fire brigade being called out 20 mins later. Basically for the future you don't silence the alarm until the fire brigade turns up and tells you too.
Very average rooms. Old carpeting is smelly, and the hallways are very busy. Had the worst sleep of my night here, with the doors slamming shut all night. Do not recommend for business trips. Breakfast is just average+. Does not deserve four stars, but more fitting for a two-star rating.
Absolutely a 5 for this hotel. Location and price. Located next to a beautiful park and near shopping area. Also, plenty of restaurants and bars to enjoy if you don't want to stay in the hotel restaurant and bar. It's a family-friendly hotel with a good selection of children's menus. It's very close to the cruise terminal if you are catching a cruise as well. The rooms are a good size without feeling cramp, wth tea and coffee facilities and T.V. Breakfast buffet is £13.00 with a good selection of cereals, English breakfast items and fruits and salads. Will definitely stay here again if returning to Southampton. Last but not least great customer service on checking in and out. Rooms: Well well-equipped and has enough space. The best is the super comfortable bed. Check pillows as different thickness and hardness. Safety: Felt safe walking around at night. Walkability: Perfect for walking everywhere centrally. Cruise terminal only a short taxi away. Food & drinks: Plenty of nearby restaurants and cafes plus a restaurant and large bar on site.
Just convenient base for a quick visit to lovely Southampton. Average room quality, very clean, but definitely outdated and far from the glory of the old Jury’s Inn those were good times!. Nice staff, especially the night team, but you get the feeling of poor overall service. The best thing, no doubt, LOCATION. Would use again in case of need…
Lovely hotel with friendly staff, only thing I would mention is the kitchen area to grab breakfast is quite small and sometimes you have to awkwardly pass people just to grab some toast. And it looked rather painful for the staff to work in also. Other than that it was a good location. And overall a pleasant stayRooms: 5/5
Stay was okay. Not bad. Breakfast was included. Good breakfast. Room was clean and tidy. Staffs were friendly. Had children’s movie and popcorn area between 6-8pm. Kids enjoyed their stay. Rooms: Clean
We went there for 3 days and 2 nights. Initially, we booked 1 double bed and 1 single bed. However, the size of the double bed was not adequate. Hence we changed the and upgraded to the 2 double beds. Thanks to one of the Staff who were courteous to give us good rates. Some highlights of the room: 1. The chair in the room was not comfortable 2. Once somebody sits in the chair, the other person can't go to the other side. 3. There was no toilet brush in the room 4. The soap station was on a height where kids below 8 or 9 can't reach 5. The location of the hotel is such that public transport is not direct. You need to walk from Art gallery if you are using public transport. The restaurant seems colourful and had a good collection of food and beverages. Hotel stay is not too costly. Walkability: 16 mins to central train station
Couldn’t compliment this hotel enough, had a fabulous stay. Clean, tidy & very helpful and Friendly staff! 2 adults & 2 children in the room, used two travel cots, room was more than big enough for this and including a double buggy. Will definitely use this hotel again.
Southampton is the worst city to visit, it has the worst town planning everything is just cluttered and built up on top of each other, nothing is easily accessible, could not find a pharmacy, the hotel was awkwardly built on around about, which just looked odd, there was no front parking whilst you checked in, you had to get to a parking building which was a walk away, if you disabled you will not find this an easy hotel to access. The staff was lovely and greeted me, nicely. We didn't stay for breakfast.
Very dirty hotel, the room we stayed in had stains on the carpet and mold in the bathroom. Our key cards stopped working on the second day and in the morning of check out there was no power in the outlets but the lights were still working. The walls are paper thin and we could her all the noises from guests in the hallway and the adjacent room.
